It's all perspective. Some will say that the larger, bolder appearance of the DD2 goes against the 'classic' grain, and the DD40 (and 36) are better proportioned.
If that's what you like, though, who are we to argue? |

I have had a DD2 for about ten years. YG and white romans. I would agree that the proportions are off compared to the 36mm, with the DD40 following the historic proportions. Having said that, it was introduced as we went into recession and the DD2 was discontinued a few years ago before the PM watches surged the last few years. I can not help but think there will be some limited collector value long term. I like it, but I know many do not, which is fine.

Like every Rolex, prices are holding up. Having the DJII , it is my opinion, that the DDII watch will have a greater presence than today's DD40. Absolutely nothing wrong with the watch if you have the wrist for it or just prefer the size of the watch. There many out there who prefer the DDII.

My next watch. I saw a pretty good sized man at a restaurant last week and he was wearing a 36. It just didn’t look right.

I have a dd40 and a dd II I love both. The DD II is killer wearing casual clothes the dd40 is not as casual but looks great with a suit
