Rolex 16808 correct bracelet
Hi all,
Is the 9958 the correct bracelet for 16808? Or it should be the 92908? Or both are ok? Thanks |

Do early 16808 from 1979 to 1984 have 9958 bracelet?

Its a combination that isnt widely known compared to stainless steel models so you may not get a lot of feedback. I do know at some point in time the 9958 was used but I cant tell you exactly when since im not as schooled on the sold gold models as I am the stainless.

I see. Thank you. So it should be acceptable and original right?

Nobody said that, but if that's the answer you want ... ok.
Sometimes you either have to do your own research, or just live with uncertainty. People won't always spoon-feed you in this life.

On a 9958 bracelet it has a clasp code dating 1981. As a bracelet for Submariner I think it is for 16808 as it was the only ref of gold Sub at that time.
Anyone? |

I am doing my research. And the forum is part of it, isn't it? I am asking here because I cannot find much info on Google. There are two sold by Hqmilton and Lunaoyster that came with 9958.

Rolex 16808 correct bracelet
Quote:
I am guessing you are looking at a 9958 bracelet currently for sale somewhere? Yes it was fitted to 16808’s for a few years. The 16808 was launched together with the 16800 in 1979 and 4-digit bracelets were carried over. Later, the newer bracelet was introduced and could be found but don’t forget the 9958 could be on a YG 16758 GMT too - so finding one with later date codes is possible. Whether any 16808 was fitted with a 9958 - even with a 1981 date - is not a certainty. But it is very likely. The exact date the newer bracelet shipped is unknown by me, but likely near 1983-84. HQ Milton sold such a combo on a purported 1982 16808 a while ago - is this one you saw? https://www.hqmilton.com/timepieces/...pple-dial-8767 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Yes. That is the one I saw. The 9958 could be found on a 16758 also? But it has a diver extension so I thought it was exclusively for 16808. Anyway, it seems like a 16808 with 9958 is a rather rare combo.
