Rolex Airking Stopped Working Suggestions

Hey Guys

So I have a Rolex Airking, 14000M from 2006, which I bought preowned but pristine condition in February 2018 from a watch dealer on Chrono24. I was told it had been serviced from an independent watch maker by the dealer before being shipped to me. (Rolex have never serviced this watch).

I rarely wear this watch, it is now in a 5 watch rotation (yes, the bug has bitten me). I have maybe worn it 20/25 times since I've acquired it.

I took it out of the safe today to wear this week, as I was winding after about 10 or so turns I felt something break inside the watch and the Resistance from the watch when winding suddenly went soft and the seconds hand/watch stopped running completely. When you shake the watch and put it near your ear you can hear something moving around inside as if something has broken off / become loose.

Anybody have any idea what this could be? & any suggestions of how I go about getting this fixed, what the cost is likely to be, & any recommended rolex authorised watch repairers in the north west of England?

I wouldn't want to guess what's wrong with your Airking but give Milton's Jewellers in Chester a call, the guy who owns it is a regular on the TZUK forum and is very well respected in the industry.

They also have shops in Liverpool and Birkenhead if they're closer to you.

Could be anything, you were told it was serviced , no paper work ? You had an unknown indy work on the watch, red flag. Who knows what you have inside the watch ? Best to have rolex fix it now they'll be more than glad to tell you what's wrong. They might even refused to work on it . Sorry

I would decide if I was keeping the watch long turn. If so, off to the RSC, if not them a trusted local repair with paperwork. Good luck.

Best to send it to Rolex for an overhaul.

It'll be expensive but it's the only way to be sure that original parts will be used - plus you'll get an official 2-year warranty.
