Horology House YouTube channel back online

Hi everyone, I just noticed horology house's YouTube videos are back online with the comments disabled, probably to prevent people from letting others of knowing the truth. Let's face it outside of the watch community probably not many know of the scandal. He still has 66k subscribers.

Oh he also deleted his how to tell if a Rolex is fake video

I don't think YouTube did anything. He probably disabled his YouTube channel to do some damage control and recently enabled the account in the last few days

I can.

This is how those websites make money. They are not interested in vetting anything which is why I tend to ignore any posted links to that site.

What is YouTube going to do? It is owned by Google one of the most powerful companies on Earth. Do you think this bloke is the only guy selling counterfeit Rolex watches? He just happened to get his 15 minutes of fame unlike most others.

“Not tasteful”, is selling fake watches, to say the least

Last I checked, many of his videos still had the comments sections active. So, needless to say, I left a comment or two (or five).

Could just be that many of the videos are monetised and he ekes out a small $$ income from Youtube each month. Who knows, maybe he is trying to raise cash to make good those who were wronged (or is my faith in humanity misguided)

Not that it completely solves the issue, but a quick google of Horology House returns 2 pages of the industry writing about his scam.

I would hope anyone spending $10k on a watch online would quickly google?

But isn't it supposed to be pulled down altogether?

Isn't there some sort of scam regulation team on you tube?

Yes they work next door to the Facebook Helpdesk and Privacy unit

...there is, but Chris Essery's situation doesn't exactly apply here:

It's tough for Youtube to do anything since technically his videos are not inherently scams, despite he being a scammer himself.

Don't forget that his scam happened outside youtube (i.e. through a facebook group, and then through WhatsApp). So I'm not sure they have a concrete reason, as specified in their terms of agreement, to take down his account- and since he has a substantial viewer base, it's not as though Youtube would be in a rush to overstep their written rules. If he published videos describing how to tell a fake Rolex but provided blatantly false info that led to financial losses elsewhere, then it might be a different story.

Apologies. Ignore. Someone seems to have hacked horologyhouse's Instagram account.

It was not hacked... The account was deactivated, and someone decided to "sit" on it by taking that same user name
