16600 wrist presence
I understand both this model and the sub are both 40mm, but wondering if the increased thickness wears larger then a sub. Can anyone offer any input ? I ask because I’ve outgrown the 40mm sub and the SD43 is more then I was hoping to spend.

The 16600 was my first Rolex, and it wears smaller than a Sub because despite the thickness, it has a smaller dial, so visually it appears smaller on the wrist.

Thanks for the input . I’ll make the jump to the 116660.

If you want wrist presence that is definitely the way to go! The 16600 is nice, but doesn't sound like what you are looking for if you want more presence than the Sub.

You could also consider the DSSD. Quite a bit bigger wearing on the wrist than even the SD43 IMO, but can be had for significantly less (the black dial, anyways).

It wears smaller because of smaller dial, but it is more top heavy and can sit less comfortable on the wrist.

As the above poster states, I too found it top heavy and it sat too high on the wrist. I could never wear it on a nato either because it would sit that much higher.
Too bad too because it was a wonderful watch aesthetically. |
