Icon19 Skyflake SBGA407 <<< My first GS - and probably not my last >>>

Decided to join a OWG-challenge in whole of March. Wearing only this GS for 31 consecutive days.

I'd wear that for 31 days, and do it all over again.

Loved it when I tried it on. I'm curious the reason for that style caseback

That's a great watch to stick with for a month.

I might do that, but for 30 days as April only has 30 days.

Me too as many GS have some sort of printed logo underneath the glass for some strange (and might I say unnecessary reason).

Only 42% completed, but my Rolex collection however - might loose big time...

That’s a laser etched image in the middle of the sapphire (not the back) and is for the same reason as the LEC at six o’clock on Rolex crystals - to make counterfeiting more difficult.

It’ makes the LEC pretty crude in comparison. But as Rolex don’t have display case backs it’s not really a fair comparison.

Printed: "...Here's where we get to my single biggest complaint about the SBGK005: the lion logo on the sapphire caseback. I understand that this historic logo is important to Grand Seiko, but display backs with logos printed on them feel like the ultimate compromise to me. ..."

The logo on the back is a deal breaker for me. Gorgeous watch substantially Cheap and buy the stencil on the back glass

I love the blue lion, personally. The logo and the color. Gives the back a clear identity as opposed to “just another exposed back” (true haute horlogerie excepted). And there’s still plenty of viewing of the movement.

Haven't worn the same watch for 17 days in a row the last 7 years, so this GS is a gem.
