Not me. I will consider it at MSRP. I have stopped buying Rolex for 2 years. Waiting for a couple of months given this circumstances is not a problem at all

I for one would love to see a back to normalcy for prices but I think this is wishful thinking.....if factories were still open and there was a crisis I might agree but it’s not like Rolex is going to be pumping these out in the next 3-6 months .

But yes buying these pieces at retail would be amazing !!!

For 15k, does that include the watch and an endless supply of toilet paper?

Pass!

That’s a great price IMO. MRSP is $ 13150 USD. If it’s worth it to you, why not?

Lol what? That’s about $3450 too much bud, you’re confusing Pepsi C and Daytona C. This watch retails for $9700, I wouldn’t pay a dime over $10.5k with the market in the air.

I’d pay $15k for a ceramic Daytona right now, that’s a very very fair offer.

Haha I figured it was just an oversight

How bad do you want the watch, how much money do you have and what are your chances of getting one from an AD at msrp? Once you have answered those questions then decide. Cost is always a factor and sometimes it does get silly, SS Daytona-C for example, but the value of ownership and the enjoyment of the watch are also factors. Will you make money should you sell, maybe. Will you lose money if you sell or trade, maybe. Will you enjoy the watch once you own it and is it worth it to you are what you need to decide. The watch is not an investment but does have value in a way a lot of goods do not. In the end, if I had the funds, I would buy the watch for fair market value and enjoy it and move on to my next watch. Oh yeah, that's right, I did and really like it and have not given the cost a second thought.

Nope. Maybe last year it was a good buy. This year, we’re heading towards a recession, IG demand and hype are gone, and it’s still a mass produced watch(when Rolex factory opens up). Msrp or less is a good buy

Nah pass.

Even at $14k right now I would not buy one. All these luxury items will drop especially models like the BLRO/BLNR/Hulk/Daytona all the hyped pieces gonna be in big trouble.

It is going to depend on the currency you are suggesting. You’re in Berlin, so I have to assume Euros. In which case I would wait a month or leave him an open ended offer of 12k that you’ll honor whenever he’s at that price, which won't be long...

I think I would wait. In part, I like purchasing watches as a memento of an achievement, a place I visited, etc. This is not a time in life that I would want to remember with that type of a purchase. And, yes, I think prices are going to crater.

This is huge by the way, the IG thing. I have plenty of friends around 25-35, you’d be amazed at the change of the tide. They’re legitimately criticizing and shunning anybody who is posting anything luxury, talking about how there’s others losing jobs/etc. This could be a major 180 in what’s considered trendy. Just my 2c

It takes a while for financial pain to work its way through the systems. Layoffs will increase as liquidity is exhausted. Personal liquidity then dwindles, bringing a lot of assets on the market. Houses, cars, watches, nothing is spared.

Also, dealers with leverage will need to sell inventory to keep their days on hand within their lender’s borrowing bases. This too will take time.

Keep in mind it took a couple years for stainless Daytonas to get to MSRP in the 2008 downturn.

We will not immediately recover to where we were when COVAD 19 passes, you cannot shut down this much GDP without a large one time dent to net worth. Wealth effects have a large correlation to luxury purchases.
