Some speculation the 116610 is going to be replaced this year with an updated model. Some think this could hurt or help the value of the current model.

Have you contacted the local ADs? Thse should be readily available anytime in the upcoming weeks. It's more likely that the SA will call you than that you will be able to find one at a decent price on the gray market. Remember, this is not the market that it used to be just a month ago. Many are having the cold feet once they receive that phone call and even more of those buyers on the waiting lists were flippers that will now skip the purchase due to uncertainty of the market.

All the ADs I have contacted so far in the uk tell me the wait list remains the same at around 3-5 years and for the majority will only add you should you have a previous purchase history. Hoping that over the coming months this may change as I would love to pick one up at rrp otherwise the grey market it is.

Of course Rolex will have to reopen sooner or later. They will find themselves in a lower demand market e.g a buyer's market.
They will still have to sell their products, but they can't increase production at the drop of a hat. Bottom line, I think supply will be lower for the coming months but you will still see an even bigger decrease in demand. Can't say that I feel sorry for the Greys, AD's or Rolex for that matter. They were playing a risky game and now the other shoe has dropped. You should wait a couple of months (maybe 6±) and you can buy your sub below mrsp. |

Rolex isn't going to send stock when stores aren't open. And they're not making watches while the factory is closed. It really couldn't be more simple. The problem is the conflation between grey and AD - many have used the grey dealers like an AD. Changes to grey market will/are happening! I'd hold off on grey purchases longer! ADs, very little to any change is possible in the current situation. If ADs remain closed and Rolex organises to reopen the factory... There may be some ease at ADs when we get through this. But I think Rolex will limit supply to ADs then anyway to maintain current market status quo. |

There’s just as good out there for less, but most seem to be going for around £8200-8800. If you want it and can afford it, get it. But personally I wouldn’t pay that. |

I wouldn't pay 2 grand over list for a sub. Seems ridiculous imho. How much does desperation cost, that's the question. Perhaps if the cash was free to me it would be different. But just seems wrong to get shafted so badly.
