FS: Rolex Datejust Ref. 16220 - Vintage 1989 - Rare Tapestry Dial - Fully Serviced

The Datejust is the perfect everyday watch and this reference 16220 is an excellent example of one to demonstrate just that. The engine turned bezel offers a complicated-looking yet subtle option over a fluted bezel, and it’s slate colored tapestry dial with a hint of sunburst is superb in its classicness yet provides such a unique feature that you will not see on most Rolex. The 16220 is a great reference as it combines modern with vintage giving that it is using the Rolex caliber 3135 automatic movement which is still used today on many of the sports models. This movement is tested time and true! Not to mention this example was produced during the first year of this initial release of this reference in 1989.

The movement was also completely overhauled ($500 service) last month and is running like a champion holding time within 0-1 seconds a day. It is a very clean piece given it’s age. The jubilee bracelet and cals are also very clean with just some typical light stretching. Fully linked to fit up to an 8” wrist. Please pay attention to pictures as I feel they are very representative of condition.

Comes with the original Rolex Box and hang tag with serial.
