Meh....thinking of getting rid of my 116710LN for a BLNR, thoughts?
With BLNR prices coming down a little and LN prices having gone up a little once they discontinued it, I have always contemplated selling the LN and throwing a couple thousand in to get the BLNR (the 116710, not the jubilee one).
I always balked because I felt the LN went better/was more neutral color-wise with a lot of the stuff I wear.....and, I've never actually seen a BLNR in person to see how much I like it. That being said, I sold my Sub to get the GMT many years ago because the Sub was too boring for me (I liked the PCL's and dial on the GMT). I feel the splash of blue might excite me a little and it won't get mixed up from afar with normal black Subs (nothing against black Subs.....the BLNR is just more rare than the Sub or GMT LN). Thoughts? |

I say do it. The BLNR in the dark looks all black, so you won't really miss your LN...LOL

I’ve had both and I personally prefer the LN. But that might just be me. My advise is to stick with the watch you like more!

I've tried both, but the BLNR has a quirky-yet-serious quality to it I've always admired, which is why I went that route.
The LN feels like all business. The BLRO feels frivolous. The BLNR bridges the gap into a happy medium IMO. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk |

Both LN and BLNR are great watches, but I prefer the BLNR.

Keep the LN. I found the blue of the BLNR very underwhelming.
However the BLNR has a fan base just like any watch, but a lot of that was built on hype. When I had the option for both on numerous occasions I went LN. The LN 5 digit was also my favourite out of the Pepsi and coke. |

I started off with the BLNR, found it too blue. Too striking, sold it and bought an LN. Now I find the LN a little dull and find myself wanting a Pepsi Jubilee, but I can't justify the hyped up prices.
Right now, I'm happy with my LN, but I would never go back to a BLNR. Kinda been there, done that. Since you've never seen the BLNR in person before, I suggest you see it in person first before deciding. The blue can be "too blue" at times. Personal preference, but that LN is a solid choice. |

You sound bored with the LN, so if you can afford the switch then why not? I think LN prices have softened recently so it will likely cost you several thousand dollars to switch ......but when has this hobby ever made any sense? Good luck with your decision.

Personally I wouldn't buy a watch I've never seen in person before.
And my opinion would be to keep the LN |

I like both and acquired a BLNR on the Jubilee bracelet within the last month and liked it so much I bought the Pepsi on the Jubilee. Before I owned the Jubilee I was a oyster fan for bracelets but the Jubilee is great. The prices have softened on the BLNR on Jubilee and Oyster in the last bit, but it will still be a few thousand to swap. Well worth it and if it does not work for you then swap back or get something else. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

My advice, do whatever you can to keep yours and still get the new one. I totally regret having sacrificed a few Rolexes to buy new ones here and there. I especially miss the Submariners I have owned including one of the first Kermits in 2004.

I love the LN and the BLNR, both are lovely watches. For me, I found having a blue watch as my main piece just didn't work. Admittedly this won't bother other people, but I just didn't like when I felt the colors clashed with what I was wearing. If you have a more neutral piece you can swap it out with I'd say go for it, but as a one watch collection I would personally hesitate.

I would do the move, but I would certainly not do the move now. BLNR prices, and all watch prices for that matter, are coming way down. Each day it seems like they drop $1,000 in price. I’d hold off for the next few weeks maybe 2 months and you’ll be able to get one at msrp or less

I've been in the market for a mint LN so please let me know if you are considering selling. You'll get a better deal from one of us than through a trade.

Maybe consider selling the LN now, then sit on the cash for a couple months to let BLNR prices soften a bit more. Could come close to a push who knows
