5512 two liner value?

Good evening everyone! I am trying to do a trade and hoping to get a 1962 5512. The watch is in good shape but per consulting I found it has a period correct gilted dial. Would love to know what you all think it is worth!

Somewhere between $150 and $35,000. Best guess based on provided photos. Not even sure if it is real.

Unless you want to post much better photos, I suggest looking at previous forum sales prices, SOLD watches on eBay (not asking prices), and dealers like HQMilton, to figure it out for yourself.

Dial condition means everything on a gilt watch. A 2-liner can probably cost up to 100k in the right configuration and condition. As well as 15k in poor condition.

The pictures doesn’t say anything unfortunately.

Listen to this advice about range, as it’s very sound. No way anyone can evaluate as already stated based on the pics. You need to share higher resolution and focused pics. Even then, gilt dial watches are very tricky to see all the flaws depending on light and angles.

Haha - that range is correct - looking now I can see the GCR that I did not (bother to?) notice before because lousy photos.

Sorry for the quality. I had to resize to fit them. I will try to get better pictures tonight. What is GCR?

I'd just keep it. Why trade it?

I’m not trading it. It’s part of a trade towards something of mine

What does the person trading it to you want it to be valued at?

I would not pay 18-20k for that. It may be worth it but I would personally spend that money on a cheaper model in better condition.

You’re going to have to provide better in focus pics. I’m not convinced the dial is correct - font looks off. At very least it is a service dial.

If it is all legit (with original dial) it is worth a lot more than 20k.

The New Photos Are Not Clear Enough Nor Precise Enough Nor Focused Enough to provide assurance it is all real. It looks good case-wise but people smarter than me on these are questioning the dial (Lume looks off, dial looks too shiny).

Hence the early service dial. You see them quite often on early watches. Especially small and big crowns.

It should be very simple to take clear, straight-On shots of the dial with a phone manufactured post-1990’s. Your questions can be answered quickly.

Tulips are flatter and they are marked swiss.

A gilt SWISS - T< 25 dial is most likely made in the mid 60’s. After 1963 and before 1967.

The font looks really odd. The 2 from 200 and the U in SUBMARINER. Hard to tell without better pics.

Definitely what i was going to ask, or maybe you have a better watch then or needs money for something important.
If not then just keep the watch.

As mentioned before, it’s a trade where I get the watch. I’m trading a car for this watch plus cash.

100% original Rolex service dial, sometime after 1963.
