How are ADs getting their watches now?
There have been many I comings and speculation hot pieces are becoming more accessible from ADs. Called mine up today and was told now it’s harder than ever as Rolex is closed and they haven’t received a shipment in weeks. I guess the incomings are from dealers hoarding stock in the safe and releasing now they need the sales?

I was told the same thing by my AD. Anything sold now are leftover stock that ADs been keeping in the safes

It's a confusing time, if that were true wouldn't prices be staying up not going down?
Also I submitted a Rolex for service to my AD around the 5th of March and he contacted me the 14th of April saying it was ready for pickup up. I was very surprised given everything that is currently going on. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk |

As for prices, this proves that although supply stopped completely, demand has fallen even further (at least flippers and B2B) which corrected thebprices a bit, I expect them to fall lower once shipments start normalizing. |

Same story with my AD, they did not get anything new since it all started, selling only their current inventory.

In the US I believe RUSA is shut down and not shipping, but they may be operating internally on a skeleton staff. I do not believe Rolex is shipping anything from Europe so supplies are either from AD safes or dwindling fast from the distributor. There have been a lot of incomings. Hard to believe this was all held back inventory. So I guess a driver of the scarcity is all the inventory in AD safes.

So, to those who doubted the AD’s really do have stock that they hold back in safes

Not sure, but I was offered a Submariner Date and a BLNR (Batman) from my local AD over the past 24 hours, so this is playing out just as I anticipated. Stay tuned!

If ADs are coining it when inventory is coming in, it makes sense for them to stockpile some of it as a contingency against unanticipated problems which are out of their control. Such as now. How much is stockpiled will depend on the AD or chain. It won't last for ever.
