You have two of the finest watch winders known to man they are called arms. And just attach your watch to the lower portion bit call the wrist.Watchwinders are not necessary with watches with just a simple date complication. It just takes seconds to rewind and reset if watch stops. IMHO its far better to rest a watch if not worn but if stored just a small wind say once a month will be fine.

Car windshield wipers' motors can be the basis for such a construction, not pretty but efficient.

Ahmed,
I bet the propeller would wind them right up
On serious note,in my 20 years of collecting I have never owned a winder.
I have seem some fairly inexpensive ones on Ebay.

Here's mine.. it's cheap, water proof, and works all but about 8 hours per day.

I personally like watch winders because I rotate between 3 Rolexes in any given week and it avoids the hassle of setting the time. I haven't had a problem with an Ebay bargain winder.

I like winders!
Especially with my vintage GMT as setting the date can take quite a bit.
I like to rotate my watches and tend to grab and go.
If its not something I wear at least once every 10 days it sits in a beautiful
RobBox watch box.
If it doesn't have a date function I don't worry about it.
If I get the watch I want (Glashutte Original Sports Evolution Perpetual Calendar) I will surely put that on a winder as that's a lot to reset!
As for what winder.... Orbita, nice winders, fair price and THE BEST customer service you will find.

if you check fisher scientific's catalog and search for nutator, i think that would do and it is probably less expensive ;]

I think the main benefit of a winder is that you put less wear and tear on the crown and stem (not setting the time so often).

Unless you put the turntable on 78 (the kids don't even know what that means), I don't think you'll generate enough centrifugal force to get the rotor to move.

I do not think that speed will help. It could however work if you tilt the TurnTable some 30 degrees.

The automatic winding mechanism works more like a pendulum where the mass tries to make it to the "bottom". A horizontal rotation of the watch will not wind the watch.

Harvey, nice looking turntable, I would suggest your continuing to use it to play "records" and not watches!!! LOL!!!
