Keep checking Chrono24, eBay and WatchRecon. You’ll see one get listed every now and again. Asking price seems to be $10K-$12K these days (not counting the idiot trying to sell theirs for $38K).

So, he originally listed it for $8888.
Didn't get any buyers, so he kept raising the price.

That's the kind of marketing you only find in the watch business.
Wish I could say, I haven't seent that before.

Sorry to disappoint but that watch sold for $9k years ago... This is another one in my private safe and the climate is different now. It may be easier to get your hands on a "rare patek" than a BNIB one here.

Just curious, what makes your Hodinkee Skipper different from the handful that have sold in the past year for $9K-$11K or so? Is there a Tiffany signature on the dial?

The point is you said above that you sold it years ago, and the rules state that any watch listed for sale must be in your possession at time of listing. So you're either lying about the watch or breaking the rules (again).

Also, I notice that a listing for that same watch was removed nine months ago by another moderator who was unhappy that you didn't answer his query on the sudden jump in price.

That kind of underhand dealing and your previous infractions add up to an exit from TRF.

You're certainly entitled to ask whatever price you want. However, the fact that (i) you've had it listed at that price since last September and haven't drawn any serious interest; (ii) someone registered for TRF and started this thread just to try and find this specific watch but won't even consider your listing; and (iii) other sellers have sold the same watch in the past year for less than 1/3 of your asking price, ought to make you consider whether the price you're putting on it is realistic. If it's really worth that much to you personally, then keep it rather than continue to try and sell it, since the market won't give you anywhere close to what it's worth to you.

No way on earth it was $8888, that was obviously a typo and should be $88888.

C’mon Tudor B.

Let’s not get wound up over a rebadged Swatch.

Yea, I really like the watch, but the most I'd pay is 12k, which I think is more than fair.

I agree that a seller has the right to list a watch for whatever they'd like, but at the end of the day the market will determine the price.

Like someone else said on this thread, just keep checking the major sales sites. They do pop up for sale from time to time, and within your price range too. Happy hunting!

Well if it's a limited edition, then it's harder to find than a Patek and you can charge whatever you want for it

It looks like our friend who was trying to sell the Heuer Skipper Hodinkee Limited Edition on the sales forum for $38K+ (and who got banned for being less than forthcoming about his ad) is back on another well known sales site (not sure if I’m allowed to name names) and now trying to sell for the low, low price of $19,777. To anyone who’s still looking for one, give it another couple of months and you can probably get this clown to sell it to you for actual market price ($10K-$12K range).

Just saw this auction result.
$19k and change for the Hodinkee Skipper at auction.
For what it's worth:

IMHO the Heuer “Blue Dreamer” LE from the Rake and Revolution is a much more compelling and attractive watch. Hodinkee’s version has a bothersome date window. Here’s a link to the Blue Dreamer:
