Finally a new Breitling I like!

I'm a big Breitling fan and the classics (Navitimer, Chronomat, Blackbird, 45mm SuperOcean/Avenger/Seawolf-line) are all brilliant. But I haven't liked their recent releases that much.

But this is NICE.

(Watch not mine unfortunately, the picture is borrowed from Breitling Facebook-group)

It’s a nice watch but I’m not a fan of the polished bezel or the bracelet. If they would allow you to buy the watch on a strap or something other than that bracelet, it would be something I’d consider.

I think it looks really good. Very much looking forward to trying one on when the Regents Street boutique opens again.

I like it!

I just wish the sub-dials were contrasting "Panda" to just take it to the next level.

Really like it. My initial inclination was for the panda style but the Frecce Tricolore is growing on me more and more ...

In house Breitlings are supposed to have contrasting subdials but the Freece is a special edition so the subs can be the same as the dial, just like the 806 and 765 reissues.

I’m disappointed that the bracelet has absolutely no micro adjustments, other than removing or replacing links, and that the bracelet is held with pins, rather than screws. This seems like a bit of a back step to me.

I have never taken an interest in Breitling but this new Chronomat is quite appealing to me. The rouleaux bracelet is particularly nice due to the unique look. If I were to get one I would want the green dial.

The price though...

I would not hesitate to get myself one if it was $5K or even 6K range, but 8K is in the Rolex territory.

Anyone buying a Breitling should know not to pay retail. There's no reason to not work out 20-25% off this which isn't a bad deal for an in house chrono.

Good to know, thank you. At 20-25% it would be very appealing indeed. Is that kind of discount pretty commonplace? I may have to try it at the dealer around here

It shouldn’t be a problem getting that discount. There will be plenty of these in AD cases once they start shipping.

It really is an excellent watch design, but am I the only one who finds this two sided graduation on the bezel odd? They might as well have done the whole thing for consistency. I get that it’s because you can switch around the rider tabs but that would have worked just as well with just one quarter being graduated for individual minutes... or all four.

I don’t think you’re the only one. I can understand it and get it, but I still don’t understand the fully polished bezel. I’ve warmed up to this warm from the initial release but until you can buy it without this bracelet, my money will be spent somewhere else.

I said it on a different forum, but I think this new Chronomat would look KILLER as a two-tone blue dial Frecce Tricolori.
