Icon14 Even the watches I have inherited are BNIB!!!!!

Dear Folks,

I have inherited two watches from my dad, Wing Commander Martyr/ Moahmed Keraidy from the Egyptian Air Force. Although my dad died in an air crash almost 34 years ago at the age of 33, I'm still keeping his watches in very good condition with their boxes.

1- Rolex Oysterdate Precision 6694 year 1967, was bought brand new in box on 26/10/1967.
2- Breitling Navitimer 806 year 1970, was given to my dad as well as some other Egyptian Airforce pilots as a gift BNIB from King Hussein of Jordan in 1973.

Here are some photos of the two watches with their boxes with my dad's flying wing and medal bar.

Ahmed

Ahmed, you are a lucky man to have some watches from your Dad to remember him by. Cherish them and pass them to your children one day. I have my Great Grandfather's gold pocket watch(in the bank safe deposit box) bought in 1903 or 1904 and will give it to my son one day!!!

Sorry, I do not have a picture. It is a Waltham 17 jewel, gold hunters case with a hand carved porcelain dial. It has a lever set for setting the date and my Grandmother told me she thought he paid 43 dollars for it. I used to wear it when I was a teenager but my parents told me to put it away. If I remember it's pretty accurate for being a non railroad grade watch!!!

I have googled the model and there are couple of shapes. Still, it is a very beautiful timepiece

Nothing can replace the feelings you must have each time you look at and hold those watches and your dad's medals and bars of acheivement.

They will always be with you for you and your children's future.

Thank you for sharing this with us all.

Great way to remember your father.

I was in Cairo and Alexandria on business last week and wore my SS GMTIIc to greta effect in the sun. Only spotted two other Rolexes, both SS Subs, and they were both being worn by ex Navy divers! I even got to go to the Pyramids as well.

You are most welcome to Egypt, MACTRACK!!! Rolex in Egypt is very well known since long time ago, specially in the upper middle class and you can fnd at least one Rolex in a family, specilly for air forece pilots, civil pilots and navy officers.
