Still convinced that availability is location dependent

Walked into my AD today and they had a display case full: two Daytona’s, one Sea Dweller; one Sky Dweller; one GMT Master II; and, a bunch of other DJ’s etc.
Admittedly, there was not a Sub, but I’m reasonably confident that if I was ready to pull the trigger, I could get one from my AD in two or three months. And I’m absolutely certain that if you plopped down the MSRP for any watch there, the AD would have happily sold it to you whether they knew you or not and regardless of your prior purchase history. I’m continually amazed how many people in other locations seem to endure all sorts of machinations in simply trying to buy a watch. Oh, also, all of the watches have been there for months, so it’s not like they just got a shipment on or something. Makes me think that if my local AD didn’t have what I wanted in stock, it would be worth a road trip to other locations.
Just a thought.

I’m thinking they were two tone models?

If not, I am on my way to your AD

I see your location says “USA”

Just as Info, if and when we see pieces that other TRF members may be waitlisted for, and they are searching for pieces at MSRP, we either mention the AD, or suggest members who may be interested PM you, the OP, so they can get the AD contact info and follow up on the Inventory. Thank you.

Couple of Daytonas, Sea Dweller, Sky Dweller, GMT Master II all in the AD case for months??

What did you have it at night before you slept and before you dreamt this? Even as a dream, it's wishful thinking!

Either OP is referring to PM models (even this seems unlikely. There is not a single GMT in the catalogue that just sits around for months - maybe the full rose gold, but I doubt it)...or, more likely, he is trolling.

You should call the Rolex police!! Every shop globally should carry the same stock with the same identical shop assistants. Fact.

Walks into AD, buys nothing, but walks out telling himself he could have bought anything (even what they didn't have) 'if he really wanted to'.

If that AD cannot sell those models, Rolex will shut it down.

Probably mostly PM and TT, and maybe a Deep Sea black or JC. To be frank what he is saying in the title is true to a large degree, except for the popular SS models. Before Covid I could go to both the AD's in my area, and they would have every model except both Daytonas, Pepsi, Batgirl, blue SD, TT Rootbeer, Green Daytona, Meteorite GMT. At that time the whole of Europe had no SS sports, and in London you couldn't even get FG, or TT sports. In the US you could still get the unpopular SS models like YM, AK, Milgauss, and probably all TT sport models, even the Rootbeer. So availability is location dependent. Even now in some countries you can get any model you desire from an AD if you are willing to pay premium.

I believe I know the AD the Op is describing. Unless am wrong its the one where Claudia Schiffer works as a sales assistant.
