SD43 Dial

Gents, I keep thinking my SD43 dial looks brown-ish in certain light. Particularly notice it in bright sunlight. Am I alone in this observation? I absolutely love the matte look and what appears to me to be a brownish tone. I’m very happy Rolex did not go with a glass black on this model.

Yep, I’d agree. It’s usually in high light. One of those nuances that throws you off a bit at first but makes you appreciate that matte dial even more!

Whatever you want to call the different colours, I enjoy them all based on how light hits the dial

I really love the UNIQUE glossy/matte dial from the SD43, is NOT the same matte dial from others references.

If through the aging process it turns brown (30years or so)

Then u got yourself a very highly appreciated time piece that can sell lots more than one that didn’t or won’t (ie the normal glossy black sub)
