Trade Speedy for SBGW231?
Hey All,
Thinking about swapping my Speedmaster Moonwatch for a GS SBGW231. I recently acquired a Tudor Black Bay 36 and am loving the small case size ( wrist are around 6.75in). My Speedy was my first real (For lack of a better word) watch. All opinions welcome. Thank You |

both the speedy and the SBGW231 are awesome watches IMO. can’t go wrong with either so I’d go with whichever feels better on wrist.

Don't think of it as swapping a moonwatch for that GS, they are completely different watches.
It's more like this; 1. Bought a tool watch in nice 36mm size, like it, would want all watches to be this comfortable. 2. Hmm.. my speedy is kind of chunky compared to the Tudor, I don't like the fit anymore. Let's get rid of it. 3. Now I have a budget of 3-5k to buy a new watch, what should I get? 4. Always liked those SBGW231 GS. It's a dress watch and I already have a sports watch in the Tudor.. yeah I will get that one. |

I’d make the trade. Especially if you have other sport watches. The 231 can be dressed down to a denim shirt. It’s a cool watch. I never worn my speedy so...that’s the way I’d go. Speedys are worth a little more on the grey market but it’s close.

I would go for what you think you would wear more often. There are too many good watches out there for us to keep locked up in our collections. I am more in the school of "if I don't wear it, i move it."

Just personal opinion I’d keep the Speedy. And I LOVE Grand Seiko.

Thank you all for your opinions. Regardless, I need a manual wind-er in the collection. I am appreciating the smaller size of the BB36. Very comfortable. Makes the SBGW231 more appealing. But I do love my Speedy. Decisions, decisions.

Great shots! Look at that shine! How is the wind action and accuracy?
