Help me pick a watch for my husband :)

Hi all! I’m looking to purchase a watch for my husband’s 35th birthday and thought this would be a good place to get advice. Based on his current collection, what should I go with next? Thanks in advance!

I am a little biased but the Ref. 116660. The ultimate Rolex watch.

I think the collection would benefit from a blue dial Datejust 41mm, I think you would be hard pressed to find a watch collector who wouldn't appreciate one.

He needs a silver dial steel Datejust or silver dial steel Oyster perpetual

Datejust comes in 36mm or 41mm $6k-$8k price range,.

Oyster Perpetual comes in 36mm or 39mm $5k-7k price range.

For the only Rolex - has to be a datejust or submariner

I would go sports model: sea dweller (any), Daytona, explorer ii polar, GMT.

Sub is just too normal for me. In any case I suspect this all is a total shot in the dark regardless of his current collection.

I would go with something simple, and classic. I personally would buy a 36mm DateJust, White or silver dial on a Oyster, and smooth bezel. Very versatile watch.

Depends on what you want to spend, but I’d suggest a Speedmaster, Explorer II, or maybe a Cartier Santos. Or a Seiko turtle if you’re looking for something inexpensive.

Wow! Thanks so much for the quick responses! I think I would like to keep it under $7-8k. I have noticed him eyeing submariners and think he would like a Datejust, but it would need to or large as he bought me a 36mm for Christmas (see pic). He isn’t really a two-tone kind of guy so I don’t think his and hers will work here. I LOVE the blue dial datejust and think the silver or white would be nice too.

Ignore the too many sub comments. There is a reason why they are so popular! Sub or datejust 41 these are my 2.

Tudor Heritage Chrono or even a cool Seiko.

(Based on the pic, if he wanted a Rolex, he’d have one by now. Definitely able to afford one.)
