Incoming Daytona 116519LN
Delighted with my new piece! Asked my AD to order me one in April and as soon as they began shipping in June, it came right along.
I’ve never owned a Daytona until today. It fits quite nicely and the straps are comfortable. I debated the 509 with bracelet, but I have 2 other PMs with bracelet and I wanted a more casual piece. Plus, the dial just pops. Had my son’s name put on the card, for the future. His name is on the only 2 new Rolex that I’ve purchased from my AD. Glad he likes watches, like me. Couple of notes. Yes, this one has a name on the card. However, in the future cards will not have a name. Cards will feature near field communication chips rather than the magnetic stripe. There have been threads on that. Another interesting note is that Rolex has begun shipping the watches in coffins, separate from the large, green boxes. They are shipping the boxes to ADs using a cheaper delivery method. Shipping watches in coffins reduces the size of shipment packaging and saves them on the insurance and delivery fee for the shipment. My watch, books and card came in several days ahead of the green Rolex box that accompanies the watch. I don’t do incomings much because my collection changes a lot. But it seems to be stabilizing. Thanks for all your enabling posts. Wishing you all the best in these uncertain times.
