Service questions: RSC vs Nesbit's...Please forgive me!
I know this has been beat to death, but I wasn't really finding what I was looking for by searching. My Milgauss (and only current Rolex) developed a problem yesterday. If I pull the crown out to position 1 or 2, turning the crown advanced the hands. I am unable to wind the watch; it's like position 1 has disappeared. The watch is stopped, I am assuming something on the crown has pulled out of alignment and I imagine the seconds hands is stuck in the hacked position.
I purchased this watch from a trusted seller 3 years ago. I have the warranty card (someone else's name) with a sale date of 4 years ago. Question 1: Am I likely looking at a full service, or does thos sound more like an a la cart type repair? Question 2: I am ok using RSC Dallas even though my name's not on the card right? My understanding is the warranty follows the watch, not just the original owner, correct? Question 3: I have used Nesbit's Repair in Seattle in the past on some Omegas I have in the past and have been happy with them. Is there a big advantage to using RSC Dallas over them? Thanks for any input. Again, I'm sorry to ask questions that have likely been done to death.

Do not know Nesbit’s but have used the Dallas RSC numerous times and I’m sure they will fix your watch quite well. The name on the card should make no difference, assuming it was properly registered by the original authorized dealer.

The RSC will just repair the watch.
The biggest advantage would be a free repair under warranty at the RSC. I suppose Nesbitt would charge you to fix it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

1. Depends on what is wrong. Might be a broken mainspring, so the watch is torn down to that - but it isn't that much more to take it all apart.
2. If it is covered by warranty, it would be no-cost at Dallas. 3. Nesbit's is a well known family watch repair shop. They can do an excellent job.

If you can get it done for free at RSC why not? Last time I asked about a service for a milgauss at a local AD they quoted me around $750 for nothing besides the regular service. Replacing parts would add to that price.

Why on earth use any other than the official RSC ?
All the tools and parts plus certified watchmakers in house.

Send it to the RSC and it will probably be repaired under warranty.

Contact the Service Center in Dallas and have them send you the box and information on submitting the watch. I prefer to do it myself as I do not want a middleman filtering information, AD's, back to me. It should be covered under warranty as it does follow the watch. RSC does great work and you will get the watch back with no issues.

Thanks everyone! I'll contact Dallas RSC and get the ball rolling.
One follow up question: I'm not sure if this is a warranty issue or not, but what was the date when warranties went to a 5 year period? I vaguely remember it used to be 2 or 3 years I think? I believe it coincided with the switch to the green hangtag if I'm remembering correctly. My card is dated March 18, 2015.
