Best strategy to get on the "waitlist" for new Rolex releases 2020?

Looks like some new models will be released online on September 1st.

For those familiar with releases of previous years and strategies to get the new releases as soon as possible, any advice?

Contact the AD now and ask them to put you on the "list" for anything (ie. Any SS in professional model) or wait until models are announced then reach out and ask for the specific model?

I would say that there isn't a 'best' strategy to get on a list. All AD's globally operate independently from one another. Some AD's may have a formal list, others may have an interest list, & others have lotteries etc.

My AD's have interest lists and VIPs. From my understanding, when a new model arrives they offer it to their VIP customers first. If none of them want it, they then move to the interest list. What position you are on the list is heavily dependent on how much you've spent, your relationship with the SA's and manager etc...

If you have to ask this question, good luck. New SS models, even if it's just a Sub with a 3235, will be very difficult to get.

A text to your longtime SA telling him what you want. I have already asked for something we both think might happen.

Around these parts a dealer won't even consider putting anybody on a list for any watch for which no reference number exists.
In summary, until the new references are officially announced there can be no list.
After the official announcement then it's a scramble to get on a list but a prior relationship is fairly important and regardless of one's position on the list the VIP's and VVIP's will take precedence over any others.
Also keep in mind that positions on lists can and will be fluid at all times until one is at the very top.
There are also lists within lists on top of lists.

best advice I can give is to form a better genuine relationship with your AD, and this will help.

Spend lots of money. Tell them you will spend even more money if you get the watch you must have. Then you will stand a chance in landing the watch if something ever arrives.

Note spending money is the key here in creating that magical (parasitic) relationship!!

Lists generally aren’t chronological anymore, so VIPs and spenders will still jump you on the list.

A good relationship is what you need, not being “first”

Best strategy? Be one of their best clients

Lists are NOT numerical. You can be number one on their list but they will still give preference to their long time, high spending clients first

This whole “I’m number one on their list for anything SS” is not a strategy and reeks of desperation to AD. How do you think the AD will think “anything SS”

First it was June, then July, now September these click bait net guys stated, one think is for sure perhaps Rolex will indeed release some new models. But if its anything like its been over the past 20 odd years mainly cosmetically change old ones. But one think is for sure perhaps Rolex will release some new models, but best wait till 100% factual evidence direct from Rolex and not click-bait net.
