First Rolex - OP36

Just wanted to share my first Rolex. I’ve dabbled with other watches such as Seikos and a Tag but a Rolex was always the desire. As a 25y/o government employee I wanted something with the Rolex quality and ‘feel’ that nobody other than myself would really notice is a Rolex. I think the silver OP checks those boxes since unless you already know what you’re looking at or get up close you’d never know what it is. I suspect this will be the last one for awhile, but hey, you never know.

For those curious, the runs is a hand made Kazak rug from Afghanistan.

Beautiful watch, and you picked the perfect dial too. That rhodium dial is awesome. It's such a clean and attractive dial, you have excellent taste. Enjoy.

Nice choice on the watch. A 36mm rolex is so classic and the silver is great too.

Also love the rug. I think we have similar taste in general

That's a handsome feller. I like the 36mm size, even though I wear a DJ41.
My wrist is medium sized, and while the 41 fits very nicely, I think that a 36mm would be a good fit also. When I finally get a DD, I might lean towards the 36mm.

Enjoy it, I love the silver dials.

My first one (a 36 too) was an Oyster Perpetual Date in 1987. Still my favorite watch.

You made a good choice with that OP36.

Nice. My local AD just shared the same watch with me. Hers is the DJ 41, which is a bit large for me, but I love the face!
