Just picked up a Black Bay GMT!

Hey folks! I've loved the Tudor Black Bay design since it came out and I've had a 79220N for several years now. I put myself on my local AD's list for a Tudor GMT about a month ago and just received the call this past Friday. I LOVE this thing! The bezel colors are just amazing. The blue looks black-ish in direct sunlight, and is a rich navy blue indoors and with more tangential lighting.

I was worried about the thickness of the watch since my 79220N is quite a bit thinner on paper, but I've found that it's a non-issue and I don't feel that it sits too high. I also have a 114060 Sub which is noticeably lighter and thinner but I find both watches to be really comfortable. The Rolex sometimes seems a little too common, although it's a great watch.

The controversial rivet bracelet feels great to me, and one huge advantage is that I can actually get a good fit on the rivet bracelet, compared to my 79220N where I just can't get a good fit no matter how I size it. It's always either too loose or too tight for my liking, so I usually wear it on the nylon strap.

In the world of luxury watches the Tudor GMT is a great value. It's an in-house GMT movement with jumping hour hand and amazing build quality for less than half the price of a similar Rolex. I don't think Omega has anything in this price range to compete, either, although I don't know their line-up quite as well.

The only thing I would improve would be to add some kind of Glidelock type size adjustment mechanism. However, I've not had any problem with the fit of the bracelet when going between different temperature environments.

I'm still on two different waitlists for a BLRO but I'm told it could be YEARS before I get my hands on one, and I'm not willing to buy random pieces of jewelry in order to get into my AD's good graces.

I'm also on a waitlist with Harrod's in London for one of their Black Bays - I've been on the list since last October so I'm praying that I get "the call" after Europe starts letting Americans in again. I love the Harrod's green color bezel. Yes, I have a problem.

Congrats, I love mine as well. I can't decide if this or the speedy pro is a better strap monster, and I've found that my Tudor GMT keeps insanely accurate time. Love the bracelet, love the bezel, super comfy, and I echo the sentiment that the only thing that would make it better, although unnecessary, would be a better on the fly micro adjustment.

Congratulations. I have owned mine for a little over a year now and it honestly has been on my wrist for over 80% of that time. One could argue that this watch is perfect for the person interested in only owning one watch.

Big congrats! Absolutely love mine and find it hard to switch watches. Never too long before it's back on my wrist.

Spectacular watch! Really enjoy mine. Was a placeholder until I get a Rolex Pepsi; but stands on it's own merits. Really enjoy mine. Can't stop staring at it.

Congrats! Haven't worn any of my other watches since buying mine a few weeks ago. Disregarded the date issue once I tried it on my wrist. I don't mind the thickness either. Great value for sure. I know I'm in the minority but I like this better than the BLRO. Less blingy, better colors, wider bracelets which fits my 8 inch wrist better, all for half the price.

Also have one, enjoy it but sometimes I feel it’s a little to thick.

Now you have something to keep you awake around midnight: watch for the date change! :) I wish you it changes not later than 0:15 and just for 1 day, not 1.5 or 2

Congratulations. I really like my Tudor GMT. Something about the watch gives it a real retro feel and I enjoy mine on the OEM leather more than the bracelet or NATO right now. I own a BLRO and both have a place in the collection as I find them very different.

Thanks guys! As for the date issue, I have not noticed anything but I also never stay up late. The date has always been correct for the last week that I've owned it.

Looks great on you. It's an awesome watch at a great price. Nearly perfect size in my opinion, both diameter and thickness. Congrats

Exactly this. I tried both on Friday and can’t decide. Anniversary.

But jeepers it is thick.

Nice watch OP. That’s the right light for that watch too. Looks much better than in other images.

Wear it well.

Congrats on the watch! As many have said, love my watch. It’s all those things you and everyone described. I find I actually miss wearing it so it’s rotating back again.
