Trying to decide between 2 watches

Good morning, after allot of saving and convincing my wife I want to spend over 10k on a watch, I am torn on which one I should get. My dealer has a two tone sub with blue face\dial, and a datejust 41 with the jubilee bracelet, fluted bezel, and white face.

thoughts? opinions?

"two tone sub with blue face\dial" I assume this is the bluesy and it is the one I would go for

With two tone watches, it can be polarizing.
People either love them or hate them. I am in the latter category. But if you like two tone watches, the Sub is a solid buy. Otherwise, the DJ41 would be a great choice.

Sub if you like the flash, DJ if you like more discreet. (all relative since the DJ is fluted bezel).

Both good looking, you'll probably have another conversation with your significant order in short order about expanding the budget to get the other one. Welcome in advance to the club aka addiction.

Of the two you mention, I prefer the bluesy. But if this is your one and only watch, I would chose the DJ. Its more neutral in appearance. From a size standpoint, they should wear about the same (unless the sub is a five digit reference).

Hmmmmmm probably the Sub for me. A white dial DJ is pretty nice though too. Tough call!

I like blue dials better than white. But I like SS better than TT. Difficult choice... where are you going to wear it most, or do with it on? If work/ desk dive I’d say the DJ. If outdoor/water activities are your thing I’d say the Sub.

I’ll also offer the sub is easier to dress up than the DJ is to dress down.

I also prefer SS to TT, but the Sub to the DJ. If push came to shove, I probably would go for the sub assuming you're not averse to the extra attention

Spend a few more weeks or months carefully researching. Sounds like this is your “one and done” for the time being... so take your time.

Question: are you considering these two models only because that’s all the dealer has, or are you actually interested in both?

If you really want something else deep down inside, then pass and wait for what you want.

If you have strong interest in both and just need to make a decision, I agree with an earlier comment: Bluesy is flashier, white DJ more restrained. Go with the look that matches your style. Best wishes!

Between those two, I would go DJ41, I love the white dial, especially if it has Roman numerals.

Sub, if only one watch. Unless you can get the blue datejust.

Are these the two watches you've narrowed down your list to pick your "must have" watch from, or are these the only two available at your AD? If the latter, I propose that you wait.

Great advice, I completely agree

OP, you should buy the watch that you really really want, not just one that happens to be available to purchase.

If both of these are on your list and choosing between the two, look for the "special sauce". What is the special sauce?? Well, you'll know because when you put it on, it will sing to you, like a little angel sitting on your shoulder and singing, and you won't be able to take your eyes off it, and you'll reach for it any time you go for a watch. That's how you'll know that you picked the right one, and you won't have regrets about dropping $10k+ on it after toiling to save for it. That's not to say that only one watch can have this effect on you, but some have more of the effect than others.

Anyway, I'd probably pick the DJ41 because I don't like 2-tone sports watches. But I think I'd get a plain-jane standard sub over the dj41 if that were available.

Same response as another tread, combo them into datejust 41 blue, best of both worlds! The fluted dial and jubilee brings a bit of the flash like the bluesy, and ask adds the blue dial.

I'd get the one that you are drawn to more. If neither of those are THE ONE for you within your budget I'd wait it out. Don't make the mistake of just choosing between what is readily available to you for 10k at the moment.

I have had my Bluesy for over a couple of years and never got tired of it. Your decision at the end of the day.
