Hulk bracelet possibly messed up ?

I had the “Jewler” at a big AD put one of my, new never used, extra links into my Hulk bracelet, last week. I’ve had the watch for 9 years, and it’s my daily driver.

Tonight I tripped in my back yard and fell on some extra roof tiles that were stacked up (broke 4 of them damn !). When I got into the house I thought I saw a mark in my crystal. But luckily no. Although I was using a bunch of soap to get the “mark” off the crystal, and then I noticed my watch was sliding on my wrist from all the soap.

Now things got weird. When I took off the watch to rinse off the soap on my wrist, I noticed the new link that was added on the 12 side but not the last full link before the glidelock but one after the last link. Anyway I noticed now that on the screw side of the new link it’s pretty stiff. All the other links in the watch move freely.

Is this because it’s a new link ?
Did the AD jeweler over tighten ?
Or did I damage the link from the fall ?

Probably he added too much thread locker and some got on the pin. It will work smoother over time. You could always ask him if he used thread locker on the screw. If he did, that is what’s going on. You can’t screw a pin on so tight that will bind the bracelet up so don’t worry about that at all. I seriously doubt a fall will do any bracelet damage as you described.
Go with choice 1 (too much thread locker).

Thanks, he did use loctite and I have adjusted the glidelock numerous times in the past week since the link was added, but I never noticed that the link is/was really STIFF before I fell tonight. Bracelet seems aligned and even, not bent. Link is stiff with no squeak when I manipulate the watch when it’s off my wrist. On my wrist I don’t think it feels different, that I can tell. Never noticed before the fall that the added link from one week ago is really stiff.

Thanks again

The screw is a stud, it doesn't tighten anything, so you can't overtighten your link.

Frequently the way to see less stiffness is to wash in liquid soap and hot water - seems like you were already doing that.

It looks like the picture above copied from another thread. The force of gravity doesn’t straighten it out. Straightens out when I put on my wrist, mostly. But I don’t know if it felt like this before my fall.

Mere speculation here, I'd assume stiffness is from a little too much Loctite, which wasn't noticed before because you weren't examining each link as you would after falling on it.

I've had stiff links like this. They loosened with time.

Agree with the Loctite diagnosis. I had that issue with my Exp II after the AD sized it. I removed the screw, cleaned out the loctite and re-applied a lesser amount, only applying it to the female end. Worked for me, not sure if you have the same issue I had.

Makes sense, thanks. When I tripped I fell and accidentally smashed 4 roof tiles on the ground that were outside my house on the patio. About 40 tiles were left near a bush outside like 6 years ago, if I ever needed to replace them now I only have say 20 extra roof tiles, instead of 24 ! When my hand landed on a stack of 6-8 of them......I cracked 4, and then I wondered about my watch. I didn’t have a mark on me, and the only thing bruised was my ego.

Much like a Rolex, a little ding here and there to the ego just builds character, LOL
