Positive RSC Warranty Service Experience / Dallas
All-
I have been reading these forums for years. I could always find answers to my questions in past threads so never posted anything. You’re a knowledgeable bunch. I thought I’d report on a positive experience with RSC Dallas. I bought my 114060 from DavidSW back in 2015. Back then the watch was running at -1.4. Fast forward to a couple months ago, it ran at +5.4. After reading umpteen threads here with different views on when to send in one’s watch for service, I decided I would before my warranty expired. I informed the RSC how much the watch had sped up over the years. They told me that the movement would get a full service, but that the case would be left alone. It took a full two months, probably because of covid, to get my watch back. It’s now running at -0.4. Much better. The paperwork said “check movement.” Though I’m assuming the representative I spoke with by phone accurately relayed that the movement did get a full service rather than a simple regulation. I can’t say for sure though. Even though I was without the watch for two months, all told I have no regrets. Thanks to all of you for a great community. betty |

So it was a free service given that it's still within warranty?

Asking for a bit more substance to the invoice would be helpful down the road.
Regulation or full service? Big difference. Not on paper - didn't happen!

I have only the clerk’s word that the movement received a full service. She told me that it would be taken apart, oiled applied where needed, etc.
Now the service papers only say “check movement.” I’d like to take the rep at her word. Though it seems impossible to tell whether it was a full service or a regulation. Just the same, it’s not normal for a Rolex to increase in speed by 6.8s in 4.5 years. Maybe they did do a full service because of this. In any scenario, even if a regulation, it was worth the wait. betty |

Nice timing. So you got a free service just before your warranty expired.

Thanks JacksonRain, peterpl, 1William. I'm glad I took the advice of many on this forum (there are some naysayers) to send it in during the warranty period. The RSC was easy to deal with, the cost was $0, and my watch is now keeping much better time.
