This hurts.....off to the service center
A quick fix (house work) turned into a very expensive repair. Wrist is fine but I'm emotionally damaged from the sound of the hit.
Old house, snaking out the sewer line, caught some roots, (1/2") cable whipped around and grazed my wrist just enough to crack the crystal. I had gloves on. Pulled the crown immediately and shook out all the glass. Goes to service this week. 20200719_081948.jpg Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

Hey, you're ok and (hopefully) the line is now clear. Watch gets fixed, life goes on. But yeah, that hurts a little to look at.
We had our original clay 1896 line replaced before we moved it. Did a sewer scope and watched in horror as "water" just disappeared at each pipe joint. |

Haha. This sounds familiar, too. The city did some work on the sidewalk a few years back and it appears they ever so slightly damaged the clay pipes underneath. The tree right by the sewer line is massive. The other tree is.... not so much. Someone gets plenty of fertilizer and water. |

Sorry to hear, that would definitely sting. Good news of course is that it seems only the crystal, which is an easy fix and will literally be good as new when it comes back.

Omg That truly does suck. I hope you're okay though and the good thing is that you were wearing protection (gloves, watch, etc). That could've been more worse than what happened, the watch can be easily fixed. Let us know when you get it back from service.

Ouch. Sorry brother. That must have been a hell of a smack. Well at least it will come back looking like it left Rolex. Pockets a little lighter but well worth it.

Ouch. That is a really sad sight.
It could have been much worse. At least you still had a wrist to take the watch off! It'll be as good as new in a few weeks. |

OUCH!
Not only do I rock the same watch but rarely do I ever take it off to do house/yard work. I'd be in the same boat if I was you. It's the chance we take. The way I'd look at is that your watch sacrificed itself for you like a buddy pushing you out of the line of fire. It was just trying to protect you. |

Ouch! It hurts me looking at it.
On the bright side, you're ok and the watch can be repaired. |

It was pretty cool watching them replace it. They basically just dug out a small section and drove a new line to push the old out, under our garage. Actually, they probably just used a new line with the OD of the clay's ID and just used the clay line as a conduit. We had another scare recently as well. The city (Denver) mailed us a Brita filter out of the blue due to a lead concerns on old supply lines. Luckily, we tested negative for lead so that pipe was already replaced. Shocking to see the differences with Flint. Denver is proactively replacing ALL the old lead lines, free of direct charge to the user. Only issue is there are thousands of them and the project is slated to take 15 years in total. |

Yikes! I'm glad to hear you're Ok and sorry for the damage to your watch. This is why I only wear my G-Shock when doing any type of repairs or maintenance.

Again, sorry for your setback. As said, will be good as new. I guess your photo exemplifies Omega/NASA’s choice of Hesalite for the speedy moon crystal. Wouldn’t want those loose shards floating through the capsule.
