Tudor BB58 bracelet sizing

After the initial excitement of picking up the watch, back down to earth with my first frustration. I can't size the bracelet to fit me satisfactorily. It's either too tight or too loose.

At the AD they removed 2 links from either side with micro adjustment pin at the 1st hole and it seemed to be fine at the time. After wearing it for most of the day it's actually too tight. So I put an extra link back on adjusted the pin to the innermost hole, but now it's too loose.

This probably doesn't apply to everyone but any tips on what I can do.

I hate to tell you, but your frustration is the exact reason I sold my BB58. If you come up with a good half-link solution, please fill me in, I would gladly purchase another.

I believe Rolex uses the bracelet designs for Tudor as a differentiator from Rolex and to keep the costs down. It would be nice if they gave us a half-link though.

How long have you had the watch? I picked it up on 7/1 and took it to the AD a week later to adjust it (only a micro-adjustment). Overall the fit is good now although a bit loose at times, but it does take time to get used to the fluctuations you may experience.

I also sold the bracelet from my BBGMT for the same reason. Couldn't get a good fit. A half link would've helped, likewise with one or two more micro adjustment holes. An easylink equivalent would've been the ideal, but nothing available for the GMT.

I have heard that the easylink from Rolex Exp1 etc will fit the BB58 clasp though. You could try this if you can get hold of an easylink...

EDIT - on double checking it looks like you'd need to physical modify the links to get the easylink to fit.

Unfortunately what you have said is exactly the same reason why when I borrowed my mates one - I did not go ahead with the purchase. It's impossible to get a perfect fit for my size wrist which is about 6.3-6.5 inch.
Look on eBay and see if you can find a half link. It might be a Rolex one or even unofficial part but it should be compatible with your Tudor bracelet. This might help. Good luck.

How do you explain the bracelet on the Pelagos?

If I were to get a 58 I doubt I'd even purchase it on the bracelet. Between the fitment issues and the "rivets," I'll pass. The great thing about the 58, however, is that it is the ultimate strap monster.

Sounds like you are one of the unlucky ones who's wrist falls right in between adjustments. About the best you can do is wear it a little loose. I'd rather have more room in the bracelet than it being tight all day.

When you get to the cold time of year you may be better putting it back in the original configuration.

The bracelet on the pelagos is superb with the spring loaded clasp that adjust so much to your wrist as it moves. Why they skimped on the 58 bracelet is beyond me. Even the normal BBs have much better bracelets and more adjustments on the clasps.

It is almost the same for me, got it adjusted at the AD, but when I got home it was too tight. I added a link and put the micro adjustment pin in the first hole. It is OK now, but it will probably be too loose when it gets colder. Frustrating!

Had my Pelagos for 3 weeks, when I was in the AD I was torn between the BB58 and the Pelagos. Although I preferred the look of the BB58 I went for the functionality of the Pelagos.

Today in good old Blighty it was a uncharacteristically hot day and noticed the watch seemed tight. When I removed it I had indentations on my wrist, no fear, just adjust to spring load, first time I had used it, very nice, well happy. Kudos to Tudor.

EXACTLY.

I just bought a BB58 on the leather deployant strap for these exact reasons. It looks great on straps, and for summer months, Strapcode makes a great oyster style bracelet specifically for the 58.

i dont necessarily see how the leather strap guarantees a perfect fitment - i had an original BB on leather and i found the gap between the holes on the leather strap was so wide that i was forever toggling between the 2 best placed holes in the strap - i have the same issue on my new "alpinist" on leather with clasp

i think the same is true for tudor nato straps - I have the BB GMT on bracelet and tudor nato and i cant say the fit is necessarily better on either option

my view is that looking at the space between the micro adjust holes on the bracelet and the holes on the leather strap the adjustment is better on the bracelet than the leather strap

short of a glidelock or omegas adjustment system for the 300m a perfect bracelet fit is a matter of luck. i had a pelagos as well but could not get on with the watch - the claspis very clever but not exactly elegant though is it?

Bought the original BB58 from an AD last year . was thrilled with it until I tried to fine tune
Bracelet sizing . Ugh ! Same issue , too tight or too loose ? How could this be ?
Well it is and it sucks. My wrist is just short out 7". Maybe 6 7/8 cold weather a bit smaller warmer temps a bit larger. All said the 58 lasted 2 days once I figured there was no way to get proper fit.
Bought a Pelagos and it was great fit

I am fortunate that it fits me near perfect. Occasionally, I get a little swollen in the Florida humidity and it gets slightly tight. I have no solution as another link and dropping to first micro position would make it a mm or so too lose when swollen and way too loose on normal days.

I am pretty sure a reputable watch maker can drill another hole or two but certainly not a great suggestion. Curious from others if there are after market half links or some other solution.

Grab one of these from Strapcode, they are made for the BB58, they even make a jubilee style bracelet. No rivets either

How is the finish on those?

Do you have real life pictures?

i bought a strapcode jubilee for my seiko turtle - they are very good save that the clasps are as good as you would expect for a bracelet at its price

i have to say i think expecting a perfect fit to 1mm tolerance is asking a lot of any bracelet short of a glidelock but personally on my ceramic sub i always found the overall length of the glidelock clasp an issue

I had the same problem last summer. I wore it a little tight... went back and forth on selling it, but when I got to fall it was perfect. This summer, not having the issue.

My take is it stretched juuuuuuust a little.

You can go back a see my post from last may, but love it now. I’d say if you like the watch, hold tight.

Looks like I'm not the only one with this problem. Right now I'm wearing it a bit loose as too tight is a no no. Fortunately due to the almost flat design & wide-ish footprint of the caseback the watch sits nicely on my wrist & doesn't slide down too much.

I actually like this blue version of the BB58 a lot and will be keeping it. I will consider getting an extra micro adjust hole drilled as I think that would make it perfect.

The Strapcode oyster looks very nice as well so I might look into that. I don't mind the rivet look but for this watch I think a normal oyster would suit it better.

I’m the same as you. Too tight or too loose. Thankfully during the summer months I can get away with looser and in the winter, tighter.

I actually bought the steinhart jubilee. 95 euros and fits the end links absolutely fine. Lots of micro holes too. Check out omega forums (one of the bb58 threads) for more details.

If you do this, let us know. Would you drill one smaller micro or bigger or both?

I’ve also thought about drilling the lugs too 🤭🤭🤭

I’d drill one smaller I think and leave more links in. Need a steady hand however and not sure I could manage it!

I had the exact same issue with the BB36. I wore it slightly loose, and in the summer it would be OK as my wrist would swell. But during the winter it would drive me crazy sliding up and down my wrist. I tried finding someone to drill an extra micro adjustment hole to no avail (nobody wanted to touch it because the bracelet is stainless steel). I went to the Rolex Service Centre in London and they couldn’t help. I ended up selling the watch during my second winter of owning it. It was an expensive lesson in my watch journey.
