114060 or 14060M

Please let me know which one you would purchase.
PS: I have a small wrist of 17cm or 6.7in

Brand new is interesting considering the 5 digits have not been produced for years. If there was a new one out there, I assume it would be worth a good amount unworn. That being said, I prefer the ceramic dial of the 6 digit, pops more and is what attracted me to the brand. 5 digit is clean, but a bit too boring for my taste.

If it really is “new” and can get at original msrp, I would get the 5 digit, sell it, and buy the 6 digit. I think a time machine would be needed though, and if I had a time machine would do a lot of other things before going back to buy a 5 digit sub.

Yep, that’s why the 14060M is the clear winner!

If I could only keep one watch from my collection it would be my 14060m. From the overall aesthetics, the ease of changing straps, to the lineage to the original sub, it is truly a great watch. It is probably the most quintessential modern Rolex’s in existence.

Need more information from OP but I'm assuming you're going to be paying a significant premium for a "new" 14060M. Working under that assumption my vote is for the 114060.

Sorry the blue lume on the 114060, larger dial makers makes it stand out more.

The bezel insert is ceramic, not the dial.

I like both but will give the edge to the 114060. Love the maxi dial and bracelet. The case is a moot point

Do you have access to a new old stock (NOS) 14060m? If so, I’d go that route (assuming price isn’t an issue).

14060M complete set, RRR-Rehaut and in mint condition is the way to go.

I had a 114060 that I tried to love. My first purchase from a Rolex AD, intended to keep it for life. After 6 months or so, I just couldn't bond with the shine of the bezel or shape of the case - it wasn't the sub I grew up drooling over. Traded it for a 14060M 4-liner in excellent condition and couldn't be happier.

Both are great choices and the 114060 definitely feels more bulletproof, but the 14060M is just classic in its aesthetics.

You just nailed it. The sub you grew up wanting. I didn’t start noticing Rolex’s until about 10 years ago, and I am not that young. But I saw the ceramic bezel and it was love. Most of this is all about what drew us into the brand. Great post.

The 114060 is a better watch in pretty much every objective, measurable way...but it’s still not as cool as the 14060M...IMO of course. And this is coming from a 114060 owner.
