Rolex SEL Oyster Bracelet on Tudor BB58?
Anyone tried it? I have an SEL oyster from my 16710 and am considering getting the BB58 Blue (actually, its ordered). I am on the fence regarding the rivet bracelet. I tried on the BB58 Blue and it didn't really bother me, but I certainly don't LOVE it, so I thought it would be nice to have the option to swap on the Oyster. Just curious if anyone has given it a shot, or is willing to (and post a photo)?

Very doubtful that would work, but that's just a guess.
I originally didn't warm up to the Rivet but eventually got one for my BB GMT. Turns out I love it. The center links are much more proportional in size, the stair step taper exudes a vintage vibe, and the rivets are damn near impossible to see anyway. YMMV. dP

If it's a Oyster 78790A SEL then I can almost guarantee it will not work. I have that bracelet on my F-serial Explorer II 16570, and tried to see if it would go on a BB58 (I had the old one). Of course with both watches being 20 mm between the lugs, it slips in there nicely, but the springbar barrel of the end link wasn't even close to lining up with the lugholes of the BB58! Wish I had taken pictures, as I've sold the black bay. But as Dan said above, the rivets on the bracelet are not intrusive at all, and the bracelet looks good with that watch. I just needed a date function!

Won’t fit.
The rivet bracelet is a non-issue on wrist. In photos, yes. On wrist, absolutely not. You’ll be thrilled with the watch as-is. It wears very similarly to a 78790 right down to the short clasp. |

Thanks for all of the feedback! It’s not a dealbreaker to me, so I’ll pull the trigger when I get the call, just curious.

the clasp is gonna take a little getting used to, as well as the lack of microadjustments. three is not enough in my opinion. I had to put on another link to make up for it.

Agree totally. First, I don't really see them and frankly forget they're there. And from normal viewing distance, they really just look like normal screws found in most watches. But secondly, I actually do like them. There is a small plate that supposedly the "rivets" hold (I think). Somehow, I'm liking this. I also like the step taper as well. And of course, it's all brushed. Fairly low key. Just a bit of character/personality without trying too hard. In fact, the bracelets on my Speedy and GS are flashier and not really my style. (Though of course, amazing watches.) This coming from a massive fan of the classic Rolex oyster bracelet. Really liking the BB58 bracelet a lot. (And love the shade of blue.) Hope this helps. |
