Would You trade OP39 Black for DJ41 Smooth, Oyster Wimbledon?

Would You trade OP39 Black for DJ41 Smooth, Oyster Wimbledon?
New mech, Easylink, Date and I really like Green Roman.
Or any other suggestions?

Ahhhhhh from value alone I think yes???? I really like both, and I normally don’t love Roman dials, but something about that Wimbledon. I have the datejust 41 blue, but really love the gray with the green makers. There really isn’t anything like it and you can always get a black dial watch...I say yes.

Yup. IMHO, the DJ is a better piece to have in a collection.

I think I would make the trade. Tough choice but I love the Wimbledon dial.

I'd keep the OP 39. It's a better looking watch, quintessentially surmises what a modern Rolex should be, and will age better as well.

The random lume on the Wimbledon dj kills the symmetry and design, IMO.

Datejust 41 but with a fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet. Lots of good dial choices. My favorites are blue and black.

Another similarly absurd question:

Would I rather have a colonoscopy from a blind, first year medical student using rusty instruments or...

would I rather go to an authentic beer garden with my best friends being served free beer, pretzels, and cheese by topless waitresses?

Ummmm, in both cases, I'll take option #2 please.

I would keep the OP39

I like the DJ but I hate the Wimbledon dial. You got all roman numerals except the 12 o'clock crown and the date at 3 but then all out of nowhere is this white stick marker at 9 o'clock. That looks ugly and out of place. Odds are your eyes will always see that first

Depends on how much I'd have to add or I wouldn't take the deal. If it makes sense financially, absolutely.

Both are nice! But there is just something about that Wimbledon dial that is fantastic. I say yes to that trade.

Hands down, Wimbledon DJ. It looks amazing! One of a few DJ models I'd be interested in (other than blue or black dial fluted jubilee). And yes, it has a better bracelet, better clasp, and better movement than the OP39. Oyster clasp without EasyLink kills the OP39 for me.

Personally, I think those green numerals pop on the dial, very unique and eye-catching, but still subdued somehow. Pure class. One of the best executed date-justs, in my opinion.

I agree with some other comments here that the 9 o'clock lumed marker is a little odd, but I could understand its functionality as it provides some orientation for the lume on the hour/minute hands. This distinguishes this particular model from other variants that use roman numerals (like the blue azzuro dial variant - no lume, including the hour/minute hand). There's slightly better visibility on this watch. I also think that the 9 o'clock lume marker provides some balance opposite to the cyclops.

i agree with your points on the 9 o'clock marker - for me it does balance the dial against the white background date window and cyclops and you have 5 "characters" either side of the centre line to emphasise the balance

ultimately i can see how the dial divides opinion but for me it was the only dial i wanted on my DJ41

Thanks very much for Your comments and suggestions.
Yes, it’s twice the price to my OP39 Black.
First of all I want something new. It has to be the upgrade.
I was thinking about AP RO, Cartier or Blancpain, but I understand that I will miss Rolex at all, and I just don't need a second watch.
Now the dealer offers me to buy a black Submariner, but I got into my soul with these green Roman numbers and unusual matte gray and for some reason in the version with Oyster and a smooth bezel. I always wear suits. Seems to me this watch will be perfect.
