Incoming...

Went into my local AD today because my Explorer II was ready after having the crystal replaced. I handed in my service receipt to the SA and asked if they happen to have an Explorer I in stock. I’ve been trying to get an Explorer I for a few months and am on a waitlist at another AD in the city. However, the AD I had my service done with do not keep waitlists, so it’s always worth asking.

When I asked if they had one, almost before I’d even finished my sentence she was shaking her head and saying “sorry, no”.

Then she goes into the back to get my watch and returns with two watches! It was my lucky day. When she went into the safe to get my Exp II she noticed that actually there was an Exp I! Bagged it up without hesitation and now my polar 16570 has a brother!!

Awesome Rolex
The Explorer 1 is the most comfortable watch I have ever owned. When fitted correctly it melts into the wrist, never noticeable. Like a Ninja!

Wow, congratulations! I guess such a lucky surprise makes it even better!

Could you please make some pictures of Exp I with Exp II Polar side by side? I have an Exp I and enjoy it a lot, but always thought that if I ever buy a vintage Rolex, it will be Exp II Polar.

Yeah sure, I’ll take some tomorrow. Can’t go wrong with the 16570, it’s a great watch. The only downside to the slightly older models is the clasp not having an easy-link for these hot days.
