Kind of crazy when you think about it.
Back when I bought these crowns and case tubes with gasket sets through my now "retired" watchmaker, total was $30 and at that same time a bezel insert was $65 no exchange needed just a case and serial number. In 2017 I sent my Tudor 9401/0 lolipop to Jack at IWW to "turn back to normal" and service prior to giving it my my older son for his college graduation in 2018, I started gathering parts together prior to sending it and then I see an OEM insert for a 1680/5513/5512 listed for sale at $1500 and I just about died. So I left the Ferretti 5517 insert in the watch and had Jack service the watch with a new case tube gaskets and crown plus back gasket, I have still have one NOS 25-19 crystal that I am going to savet for future use in his watch as well as these crowns. All of this lengthy heartache in getting that watch ready to gift to him really changed my outlook on vintage watches and certainly vintage Rolex/Tudor watches. Now for myself I want a new or gently used watch that I will wear/use and never service, when in no longer functions for my use, into a box that my 2 sons can divvy up after I kick it. These days I am mostly a Seikoholic but I confess to lusting for a BB GMT pepsi on one of those gorgeous "rivet" oyster bracelets:-) Thanks for looking.

Thank you, but not as much appreciation as I had envisioned, lol. My younger son is more of a WIS and he is really looking forward to his graduation present, this jumbo Oysterdate. But he is now taking a "gap year" mainly due to covid, while I love this watch I really want him to finish his undergrad. :-) The 2 watches have very dissimilar values but they follow each of their career paths, my older son graduated Mass Maritime and is a deck officer, the younger one is an accounting major who plans to get his MBA in International Business.
