New Submariner Line With 3235 Movement
So, is the recent release a sign that Rolex updated/fixed the 3235 movement issue that has plagued the DJ41 and other models the past few years?

I was wondering the same thing. You would think they had enough time to correct the issue. Time will tell I guess.

I am also curious about this before I pull the trigger on the new Sub. Bas (SearChart) mentioned something about this in one of the new release threads. Hopefully he finds this thread and can shed some light on this situation.

There are several threads on this subject. Here is one of them.

There were rare problems with the lubricants from what I have read here. Easily fixed under warranty. I think the new movement is pretty solid. Watch companies test new movements for a few years before they are released.

Reportedly, the lubricant is only a temporary fix. From what I have read here, there is a minor design flaw that causes excessive wear on a critical part.

Otherwise Rolex will have to expand the number of and or square meterage of their service centres along with more staff to cover off on the demand for warranty fixes |

I had a long discussion with the LA RSC about my 3135 running a little slow; 4.22 seconds.
Here’s the perspective from the a Rolex service manager: 1. How often you wear your Rolex changes the speed. My 2018 3135 varies from +1 to -4.22 a day based on activity. They assume that most buyers will rotate their watch and don’t pay attention. Others will wear their watch 4-6 hours a day. Their point is that the 3135 needs to worn all day. They bought off on my iPhone Movement tracking app numbers. 2. If the watch is scratched they assume damage from dropping, etc. 3. If the watch has been professionally polished they assume a third party opened up the case and will void the warranty. 4. The new specification is -2/+2. However, they fall back on point #1, if it is running 4-5 seconds slow. 5. The SM said track the change in seconds for a couple months. If you’re convinced your watch is slowing down (from -2 to -5+ seconds a getting worse) bring it in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
