Still No Daytona Precious Metal on Bracelet...

I can’t believe they didn’t release a Daytona full Gold CERAMIC on Bracelet. My funds were put aside and ready.

Anyone have a Gold Daytona Paul Newman dial they want to sell cheap .. haha Jk

No it's not. You're happy with it cause you own it, but many aren’t.

That’s a subjective argument. I think a ceramic bezel would totally look out of place on a full gold watch.

Like your initial statement.

Actually the black ceramic would go great, giving it some oomph to it.

I waited a PM Daytona with bracelet for several years before purchasing my 116518LN YG on Oysterflex. Happy with my choice. The OF strap has quickly grown on me. A great alternative to the oyster bracelet as it really tones down the PM watch. And I also like the much more scratch resistant ceramic bezel.

Say what? With the exception of some Daytonas, most recent sports model gold Rolexes have ceramic bezels. I don't hear too many complaining about the 116718LN, 116618LB, 116618LN, 116688... okay people do complain about the bezel on the YM2... 126715CHNR, 126618LN, 126618LB, etc...

I will NEVER purchase a full gold watch on a OF or leather. I learnt once already and will never make that same mistake.

If you ever want to add the bracelet later its

1) Either not possible because the strap versions always have fixed lugs
OR
2) The gold bracelet is like $15k USD by itself!!!! Its probably more now closer to $20k. You get ripped off hard going down this route.

Also a Ceramic insert on the full gold models looks awesome. Its just the same as it looks now on the OF just on bracelet. LOL

One white, rose, and yellow gold I prefer the metal bezel. On platinum I like the brown... I think the black bezels on full gold look off (from photoshopped versions I’ve seen)...

I totally agree! Full gold needs gold bezel. I don’t own one but if I could afford it that’s what I would prefer. I feel like if you’re wearing full gold you don’t worry about scratches cause you’re bad a$$.

That’s stunning and testament to how well it can stand up.

I prefer full gold bezels. On an all PM watch it differentiates it. Exception is the platinum Daytona. I love that too but I’m sure it’s the grandeur of the material that carries through that brown bezel. Certainly a strange choice.

The platinum day dates work very well with solid platinum bezels and ice blue dials.

I hope they keep full gold Daytona’s with the gold bezels. Keeps them different.

Brown bezel on ice blue dial of the platinum works best. Rolex must have done countless experiments before they chose brown instead of black. To my eyes the brown bezel looks not like shiny as ceramic but more like bakelite, very smooth, subtle and beautiful.

I have no idea, it’s not been a daily wearer. I used to wear it when ever I was dressed up or wore a suit. I outlined in another thread how I wore it to the Mercedes VIP area at a Mid Ohio Cart race and met Paul Newman who was in the Newman Haas racing team VIP area next to us. He was curious about it but said for years he didn’t understand all the hype surrounding a chronograph his wife gave him. That made the watch more special to me and I have worn it more often since. I keep it very clean too.

No, my wife wears it regularly. I don’t wear it so often. None of my watches are safe queens, they’re all in heavy rotation.

I don’t have to keep them shiny for anyone, they’re there to be worn.

The only safe queen I have is a brand new Sub for my son which he will get in 8-10 years when he graduates...

That’s amazing....I’ve seen watches people let their wife’s wear and they never look like that...I know the ss bezels scratch as soon as you look at them, let alone wear them

Second. Love the gold bezel, and think it’s perfect with the full gold bracelet. On OF, I think the ceramic works.

A ceramic daytona on PM bracelet? I can dig that.

If that were to ever happen, I could see myself moving some pieces around to acquire one!

I hate to be a wet blanket, but I definitely can believe it.

As a matter of fact, I don't see it happening anytime soon. Rolex has their Daytona line positioned just where they want it-and it looks to me like they're gonna sit tight for the foreseeable future, IMO.

Just my two cents, I'll happily eat my words if wrong.
