New sub end link recess changed
Anyone notice that the end links on the new sub appear to not be recessed anymore? Or at least less recessed than before.
To me this is a step backwards visually, as the end link recess serves to define the outline of the lugs. The difference can be seen here in this pic from another thread. |

Rolex has been moving in this direction over the last few years. Take a look at the PM Daytonas on bracelet (non yg), as well as the new Jubilee on the GMT and Datejust, and President bracelet on the Day-Date. Not only are they not recessed or flat, they actually sit a bit higher than the lug. See below for some examples:

This is the modern trend to have more contouring around wrist similar to the patek 5167 and some of the fp journe strap designs .....

Yep. And it doesn’t look nearly as nice. The new design looks less expensive. The older six digit was a fantastic modernization of a classic watch. These changes make the watch less distinctive among millions of clones & hommages. Just not nearly as visually exciting in my opinion.
