Recommended AD in the DC area

Hi,

Was wondering if any of you had a recommended AD in the DMV you use? Looking to purchase my first rolex to add to my collection.

Thanks!

Liljenquist and Beckstead. They have a few locations, go to the one in Fairfax Square near Tysons and ask for Charlie, he has been my go to for over a decade. Fairfax Square location is Rolex only. Other locations carry a variety of brands and everyone is highly knowledgeable and friendly.

So I’m going to differ with the guy above - I live in Bethesda so the DV/VA dealers are closest - but - go to Frederick.

If you’re just buying Rolex - and not any other brands - then getting nice watches and a good buying history from the family owned AD in Frederick is way better.

I got both an air king (for the father in law) and a hulk in 1 year with no prior buying history.

Shoot me a PM and I can make an introduction.

Liljenquist and beckstead in Tyson’s corner. Either Michael or Dimitri are great and honest.

What about Tiny Jewel Box?

I just picked up a bb58 blue from Liljenquist last week but I am really looking for steel GMT II. I heard good things about Tiny Jewel Box, albeit from an unverified source, so I recently stopped by to put my name down for GMT.

I had the original GMT II Batman but it was stolen and I want to replace it, but I can't bring myself to pay grey market price.

I've been out of the Rolex buying market since 2004. Times have really changed! Still wearing my TT Sub with the Serti dial.

Will these AD's have the inventory and will they sell to someone with no buying history? I want a new Sub or Sea Dweller, and might have to drive to the DC area if they have these in stock.

Well forward thinking I would strongly recommend Liljenquist & Beckstead like the others but the Tyson’s Galleria location (they don’t just have Rolex) so it’s easy to build your collection up. After visiting all of the other ADs in the DMV area this is by far my favorite. Every time I have purchased it never felt like a transaction, and we’ve established a great friendship. Not only are they extremely knowledgeable, but they have great personalities. I generally stop by every 1-2 weeks and get wrapped up talking about life and trying/viewing pieces time really flies. If you want I’d be more than happy to introduce you to them in person just DM me and we can link up before hand.

Inventory is there, but imo relationships goes a long way. There will always be flippers so their job is just to ensure they selling to people who just want to make a quick buck. They do a great job of it to imo. See the above response in terms of recommendation cheers.

Any idea as to when the DC AD's may have in stock the new Sub's or a Sea Dweller? How long once announced does it take for the new stock to arrive at the AD?

Usually two-three months between new model announcement and availability at ADs. This year due to Covid, the announcement was delayed but new models were produced and are showing up at ADs now. Your problem will be finding an AD willing to sell to you. They will have had many other buyers asking about these watches. Demand on all S/S Rolex watches has been very high for the last three-four years. All you can do is give them your name - get on a list and hope they call you some day.

Good luck.

I stopped by lenkersdorfer this afternoon to inquire about the new OP41. They told me they wont even put me on a waiting list. Shocking to me, this isnt a professional model. If I cant get one of these what on earth can I buy?
