Incoming! first GS

I have always been a big Seiko fan, have had everything from SKX to SLA but the GS bug hasn’t bit ..... until now

This one jumped out at me, love the gold accents on the blue dial

Was very close to getting a blue DJ but another Rolex wasn’t exciting me as much, looking forward to getting this one in rotation!

I will post more pics on arrival in a few days

Oh and shout out to Thanh Do (Takuya) for making it happen, he always comes through and makes things so easy, just a few texts and it’s on its way

Great pick, I have 2 of the seasons. It’s my favorite watch case they make by far.

Watch case is totally unique. Not sure how they can build that watch with a bezeless glass over the dial.

The case was designed back in the mid 1960s by Taro Tanaka and was originally for a Seikomatic chronometer. Then in 1966/67 it became the first automatic Grand Seiko, the 62GS, with date (6245-9000) and day-date (6246-9000) options.

Absolutely superb! The grammar of design story, and the resulting watches are so crisp and simple. I'd love one of those. Great pick up!

Arrived today!

Loving it so far, perfect size, weight.... and that dial

The blue shines in the sun and is like ink in low light, every part of this thing exudes luxury

Other than value retention, the GS beats the OP

I have to agree.

But with a very limited production, 35.000 units a year and growing international interest, value retention might change in the next decade.

They produce 40x less than Rolex and are now getting unprecedented attention in social media’s, from watch bloggers, watch enthusiasts, etc.

Probably the best looking GS available imo.

Could we get a comparison of the bracelet to the OP please?

Congrats on your purchase. I think these are 2 different watches. The GS will wear dressier than the OP as it’s a bit more bling. Rotating these will work.
