DD40 availability

I would be interested what folks are experiencing on ordering a YG DD40 228238 and how long it is taking. I had ordered one with white romans about three months ago.

I waited a year for a DD 40 white dial, four months lost due to the covid shutdown. My AD has multiple locations and has 19 orders for DD 40's that he can't fill. The Big Boys in NY had very few, was trying to compare dials before I pulled the trigger with my AD.

I cant wait until the market is flooded with Rolexes.... AGAIN!

We have perception and reality, no spoiler alert, but ONE of them will be kicking in soon...

The markets are completely disconnected from fundamentals and it has driven us much higher than anybody anticipated and decoupled us completely from the underlying fundamentals. I'm talking about the stock market but the same priciple applies to everything else people are overpaying for - Rolexes, Porsches, Real Estate, Art, Collectibles. Some random kid I was eating dinner next to with a FAKE ass blue Rolex Sub (the dial was literally loose) complimented me on my LV sub and asked if I would sell it to him for $16k, he is an "entrepreneur" and "investor of art". I literally laughed. The bubble will burst and I can't wait to capitalize off the bag holders.

I prepaid Tom, price was locked in before the increase. Generous discount as well, and bundled with some hot SS, win win for me! Couldn't be happier!

I have been very fortunate to get in last two weeks a YG white dial SKYDWELLER
And the DD40 YG , White/Romans.

My AD is extremely good at allocating me great grail watches. The DD 40 took 2 months. The Sky D, they had in case for about 3- weeks l, but I then decide to get it too ( he black dial sold first, and the two tone).

It’s a great watch, but seems DD40 now, if not in the case, the preferred model will be hard to get quickly. But if you shop around you find it. But I am
Loyal to any AD.

I’ve often seen them ready for sale in cases. U less there’s a very specific dial one wants
But I suppose it can vary by area?

I think I just saw a DD 40 white romans in the case at one of my local AD's should be a watch you can special order but wait time is unknown.

Mine took 2 months this summer. When I ordered it, the good strong AD had a rose gold white Roman dial, rose gold with olive green diamond. And a few 36mm

It can found, but white Roman YG are the most popular dial, so might be. Pending what you are looking for.

There is a recent youtube post by Eric Rivera in Miami, taking about recent increased requests to him for PM Rolex and hard to get these days etc.

I think they are pieces you can order but could be hard to get once you pull the trigger.
And certain dials/gold combo more difficult.

I would like to have a WG olive dual, or Blue ... eventually ...

You can likely find one shopping around, but it may take a little effort. The fact that finding a DD40 will take effort says all that needs to be said.

I’m a PM lover and I see used DD40s going for practically LIST price and some new DD40 OVER list price...different times

To think these watches were going for around 26k new about two years ago lol

Good luck!

Not sure he wants to do that...trusted sellers have new DD40 slightly over list. We are officially at that point

Better off just getting at an AD and getting the credit/purchase history there these days. We are headed in a direction I never thought I’d see lol

Good for you! In Singapore it’s going for close to USD36k inclusive of 7% tax. ☹️

I purchased my DD two months ago, white face/romans and that had it within 1 day for me and with a discount.

I do have a good history with my AD, but still think you can find them.

Rumor is the YouTube stars love buying these up now and making them even more popular.

I got a 228238 with black diagonal motif dial from the case at my AD, so I would say it really depends on where you are located and the traffic at the AD.

Not to add fuel to the fire, but looking at Watchfinder in the UK, they have a Rose Gold Day Date 40 with an olive dial at £8k over list price....

Is this really that scarce? Pretty sure I could get one within a month or two.
