Omega Planet Ocean.

I really like the orange colour of the bezel but my question is will the orange date very quickly and it will look silly in 5 years or so ? I bought a Raymond Weil a few years ago with a green dial, at the time I thought wow, but now I think yuk !!
Opinions aprreciated.

Well orange is a bit of a fashion thing at the moment orange dials as well.
Myself like OPO its a good looking watch, will the green bezel of the Kermit Sub
look silly in 5 years who is to say. Many years ago they said large watches were silly but now most are 40mm and over.If you like it have it, and who cares if anyone thinks its silly or not,IMO the orange bezel make the watch
look great, wear it with pride and good health.

Everything orange will look silly in 5 years or so. There's an orange fad going on right now. In the last several months I've bought an orange car, orange skis, and an orange Gore-Tex jacket. The color will not hold up over time. Of course, if you like it, what does it matter?

No problem... it's only a Raymond Weil.

The orange in the PO is supposed to make for easy visibility underwater. Yellow and orange are two of the easiest colours to spot deep down there.

That's probably true, JJ, but they introduced a watch featuring the fad color of the year, in a faddishly large size. That convinces me that they're pandering to fashion. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I like the watch -- I'd consider getting one.

Hi Peter,

Trust me, you won't be disappointed. If you still haven't seen one in the "flesh" so to speak, I suggest you do so. You'd probably prefer the 42 mm size because the 45.5 mm is really quite large. I have the larger one but got used to the enormity of it within 24 hours.

The movement is very accurate, the Power Reserve (I managed to squeeze out 51 hours from mine) impressive and the overall feel, finish and heft of the watch is mind-blowing.

Good luck - JJ

Thanks, JJ. I've looked at them at the store. The 45 is too big for my little hands, but the 42 is a good fit. I'd probably wear it on my right hand, and wear the green sub on the left. That would be too cool!

Well at least Omega gave us a new model, instead of cosmetic changes to a sub
and quite a price hike for the privilage.

Quite right....OMEGA have been very innovative over the past 10 years or so and come up with some very interesting models, designs and their own in-house movements, some of which have been very impressive and outstanding.

Well done, OMEGA!!
