Steel & Powder

My watch and my 44 mag Taurus, Henry, and 9 mm Bryco ? where did I get that one and don't try to fire good ammo thru it either... Cheaper the better for the 9mil. Sorry for the poor quality pictures :o( I promise I'll do better, not saying when but, I will do better :o) roflmao

The ammo you see lined up is .22 shot shell, 22 LRH, 22LR, 9mil federal, 44 Mag Remmington, 45-70 Winchester, and 300 Savage by Winchester and the piece of steel in the middle I, well I'll let you guess what and how I got it!!!!

Don't have any of the more know names just these and the 45-70 I grew up with was my grandfathers and the 300 my uncles deer hunting rifle.

Earl, that lever action looks like a beaut, pal Is that a Henry? I've never seen one with a wood stock . Of all the weird, high-tech looking stuff I've used at work this one is still my favorite

Wow, that sounds sweet Mine is a chaep Colt knock-off. It's an EAA. I've always dug the old wesern guns though. I had a 12 gauge coach gun with the exposed hammers for a while and an old Marlin 336 in 30-30. The Marlin was one of the most accurate rifles I ever had

I always wanted a 45-70. I came real close to pulling the trigger on a Sharps, but never did. There's really no place to shoot them around here

I can understand what your saying Craig. I loved Gramps 45-70 then my older brother lost it. :o( (I had always wanted dibs on that gun)

Shot the 44 this past weekend at the range... had to stop shooting it after 25 rounds my hand was hurting from the recoil. Maybe a cooler day will be better as it was very hot at the range that day.

The wife shot up a box of 50 22LRH from bench postition and tore up her target at 50 yrds and open sights. Wish I had an old sand pit to go shoot at like the old days.

C.J., That's a completely customised Colt MK IV series 70 from the mid 80s

Barsto barrel, Bomar low profile sights, Swenson ambi safety, Videchi trigger set at 3 lbs crisp, french border, and 20 lines per inch checkering.

Tightened and accurized--1 3/4 inch at 50 yds. with match from a ransom rest.

We used to have a great gravel pit about fifteen miles into the mainland where we could go and have a blast It's townhouses now The only thing left are a couple of VERY controlled ranges. They're great for training and tactical scenario sims, but not a lot of fun though

Yeah, they're pretty sweet tools. Since I retired and went federal most of my time is spent teaching.

Mostly with one of these

Yeah, I've got the 22 with the M-3 mounted. I thought most of the Feds were using 229's. I've been thinking about a P220 in stainless or a 229 in .357 sig/.40

Most are, change over can be slow across the board.

Go .40, 72% of law enforcement nationwide uses .40. Agencies that use .357 sig are looking for the penetration factor. Can be a problem in certain areas.

Try .40 with the Fed. 165gr HST.

We use the Fed 180's now. Nice expansion with very little over penetrating problems Call me old fashioned, but I'm a big fan of the .45 , I just really don't see a Department change over to it

Yep. My Dept. has issued .45s for quite a while. I used the HK USP on SWAT.
in .45
We issued S&W .9mms to the female officers for a while (grip size)--just a logistical nightmare!

We're currently changing to the S&W M&P .40. Standardization is important and the grip being interchangeable is a bit more forgiving to those of smaller stature.

We tried going with the Glock 21 (.45) for patrol and service issue, but it was too much for the female officers. We're attempting to go with them for the tac and entry teams but as usual, funding has become a problem, so all branches of ERT are still using the 35. We did just break away from the Rem 700 for the sniper teams. We just got one Robar for a trial run, as well as, a batch of H&K UMP 40's.

As we stand now we have seven issued service pistols Glocks 22, 23 and 19 for patrol issue. Glocks 27, 26 and the PPK/S for plain clothes. It gets pretty confusing

They really don't like when you guys get a hold of what we're talking about when you get pissed off, you guys tend to make national headlines I think they even gave you all your very own term, they call it going ......

The 35s a great pistol. I've used them in IPSC and GSSF. Kentucky State Police issued it. They got them with their patch engraved on the top strap behind the hood--Looks cool!

We use the Sig-Blauser RL 93 for sniper use. --Straight pull bolt--nothing faster! Mine had a Leopould M-3 3X10.
