Rolex GMT Master 1675 Root Beer from 1973
Rolex GMT Master 1675 Root Beer
Hi! Up for sale is my Rolex “Root Beer” GMT Master 1675 with a beautiful brown nipple dial, steel case and outstanding vintage bezel. The original owner stated that this watch was kept in a safe for a long period of time and was used only in special occasions. The model is sometimes referred to as Tiger Eye because the hue of the dial is reminiscent of the chatoyant gemstone. This is normally a golden to red-brown color. This watch comes with the HECHO EN MEXICO men’s bracelets that are either stamped with JOSKE’S or with J/M (which means Joske’s Mexico). This one in particular shows the number MJ-01. In 1867 Julius Joske founded a department store in San Antonio, Texas. By the 1950's it was the largest store in Texas, and by some accounts, the largest in the country. It was also a Rolex authorized dealer. Joske's had Rolex jubilee bracelets made for them in Mexico in the '60s and '70s. This makes this watch even more special to me. This watch is working perfectly, recently checked by my jeweler. The movement doing the job is the automatic 1570 calibre. The GMT-Master 1675 is one of the most prolific vintage sports watches out there, its production spanning twenty-one years from 1959 to 1980. The dial, originally brown, aged into a mix of brown and purple, a rich color that’s truly amazing. The gilt print and gold hands and markers are the perfect complement to the dial. Highlights:
