cracked crystal on 2018 sub

Unfortunately my morning went sour - it was fully my fault. Hit USPS drop box while walking, hard enough to crack the crystal. For anyone that had that happen before, how much does Rolex charge to replace the crystal? Does Jewelers Mutual cover that damage?
Thanks for your help!

Are there crystal particles inside the dial? Pictures will help.

Take it to RSC. For a hit hard enough to break the crystal, there could be some internal damage. Let them tell you if it needs more than a crystal change. Call first to see if its open. I always enjoy a trip to RSCNY.

Here you go. Breaks my heart. So just trying to get an idea what it will cost me and/or if jewelers mutual covers that type of damage? Doesn’t seem like anything is loose between crystal and dial.

Thanks for the photo. It looks like it did shatter and there are some floaters within the underside of crystal.

If you send it to the RSC in the US, they will most likely want an overhaul complete along with the crystal replacement. They might even not offer to replace the crystal without an overhaul in accordance with their service policies. You can try to find a watchmaker at an AD that has a parts account with Rolex. From my personal experience, RSCs located abroad have replaced cracked/chipped crystals (similar to yours) on my watch without a full service. I've had no issues with mine.

Hack the movement. Put the watch face down, take it to a service center.
If the dial is not scratched, its 200usd.

RSC will automatically want to service it. No need if glass is not shattered inside.

Exactly the advice I was about to give. Stop the watch and take it in. Invisible Glass shards can cause havoc and severe damage to dial, movement, well everything...

I disagree, I have never serviced a single watch (not even with less shattering than this one) with a broken crystal that didn't have crystal shards or powder/dust inside the movement.

But of course, not my watch and if one wants to take it to some watchmaker that just replaces the crystal, whatever, I don't really care.

I wont argue with you, I ll just offer my example.
It happened to me and I changed the glass only. Movement was inspected, no glass appeared to be inside, it was gently air blowed. Watched worked within cosc after.

I'm glad that worked out fine for you. Not here to argue either, just telling my experience with taking them apart.

One has the right to do whatever they want with their own watch.

You are a watchmaker, right?

I believe JM will cover. I use them and (knock on wood) never had to file a claim but they say the cover against damage. I believe Jm cuts a check to the jeweler you get the repair or new item at. Not sure how that works using RSC.

That sucks ! Take watch to RSC and you don’t have to worry you’ll have to pay but it’s worth it also the watch is still warrantied. Good luck !

Unless you get a full service, you are asking for trouble. Imagine even one tiny dust-sized fleck of extremely hard Sapphire glass working its way into a jewel, and the potential for eventual damage.
That's why Rolex will want to do full service. It is in their best interest, and YOURS too.

Maybe run it by a CW21 for exam and evaluation. It is not a free warranty repair anyway.

I know what I would do, but it is your watch, and do what you feel is best.

That’s unfortunate. It looks like you hit it just right on the edge of the crystal.
Plan for $1000 for a service and new crystal.

I had this happen with my pepsi getting the bezel replaced. They said it had micro scratches that they could see under the loop so asked if I wanted it replaced since they had it at RSC anyway. I had them replace it.
