wait time to receive new OPs?
hey all...
hoping to get some perspectives on arrivals of new OPs to ADs from folks who have received or made deposits Back story: I put deposit in for the now discontinued OP36MM with steel dial in late May. Rolex never sent to AD since they had stopped production, and my AD reached out to help me switch to the new 2020 silver dial when the models were publicized early Sept. Since then the AD has said they'd receive by end of September, and then when that came around, 'hopefully within the next 3 weeks' was the follow up. I know it's partly due to circumstances (COVID & discontinuation of original model) that I've now waited 4.5 months for an OP, but honestly didn't expect it to be this long and hoping folks can share insight! (this is my first Rolex; after 5 years of coveting the steel dial I finally pulled the trigger, and was bummed when it was cancelled but the silver has since grown on me!) thanks in advance... |

I don’t think they are able to allocate all.

Waiting for OP41 green and OP31 candy pink; it's been 2 weeks and should be a couple more.

Put my deposit down on September 18th picked watch up on October 10th so about 3 weeks.
My AD was able to place an order for one of each of the 41’s and 36’s and said after December 30th they will be allocation only going forward. Said they are going to be very hard to get starting next year. |

My AD told me they thought they would be coming out faster than they are so they took more than 30 pre-paid orders in the first 2 weeks and now they can't fill them. So now they are not taking any new orders until Spring. The first 3 people that called in ordered total of 7 which kind of spoiled it for everyone else. I'm expecting mine sometime in April.

Called 2 ADs day of the announcement.
First AD I have a purchase history with said they will add me to a wait list for Green OP 41 but wouldn’t take a deposit they’re doing the standard AD fulfilling VIPs first then waitlisted clients second. Second AD with no purchase history called me a week after expressing interest and offered to do a prepaid “order” for Coral OP 41. I was told I’m first in line for the Coral but been little over 30 days so far and still waiting on both. No real time table given. Both said could be a couple weeks or couple months. |

I've received some pretty desirable stuff from my AD in the past. So far in my experience its harder to get any color OP41 than it was for me to get my Green Dial sub.

The 36 mm OP Steel Dial is a very cool watch. I would look around for one if you really want one, but I see the prices all over the place even for discontinued OP. so may have to talk a lot and keep negotiating. The new silver dial is definitely different than the steel dial and new silver dial has Gold markers. The wait time is unpredictable.

Prepaid for a yellow OP41 for myself and a turquoise OP36 for the missus two weeks after release. Received the OP41 in a week or so, still waiting on my wife's OP36...

I've heard mixed results from threads like these and from friends. Honestly, just try to reach out to multiple ADs and cross your fingers, especially if you're in a big metro area.

I was first on for my green op41, and got it within a couple weeks of the announcement. Also ordered a coral 41 as a gift for my mother (she loves big watches) and that Im still waiting on...the dealer was taking deposits for them, but got so much request they have a list for most or all of them and aren't taking any more money.

I asked two weeks ago for an OP41. Told my SA I would take whichever came in first in this order of preference: coral red, yellow, green, or turquoise. They have already delivered some and are getting them in every shipment but pretty random on the colors. He and the other SA’s rotate on them, I should get one “by the end of the year.”

I think the initial ones arrived immediately at the AD (we picked up a 36 Yellow for the Mrs) and they were expecting more to arrive fairly regularly, but this hasn't happened.
As they have proved incredibly popular there are now lots of requests and very few incomings. It looks like Rolex are playing their games with the OP as well now. |

Thanks everyone for the input!
Great to see folks have received theirs and are enjoying them; the pics on the wrist are so much better than the renderings on Rolex's site. Just spoke to another AD who said she anticipates most dealers will only receive one in each color in each size for the year so she doubts they will end up behind cases as they're already accounted for. Grateful that I had the order in at my AD so early... |

Id imagine they'll be hitting the cases of some smaller ADs any week now. My AD hasn't gotten a shipment in 3 months. They're hoping by the end of October.

Our AD actually said they received more enquiries about the new Stella OPs than the Sub in Sept at release. |

Put in an order for 2 the day after unveiling, then added 2 a week later. Still waiting on the first set, really hope it is soon. AD told me the second pair should be mine by years end worst case...we'll see.

Registered interest for a OP36 Blue on the third week of September. Got the call last Thursday and picked it up the following day.
