Trade-in advice

Hi fellas, just got my watch back in from RSC service, I want to move from 36 to 41. Would folks suggest trying to trade on here and adding cash or selling privately and add cash?

Thanks for opinions

If you want to get the most value out of your 36, selling privately is the way to go. May take longer, but you’ll get more that way.

You can get more money by selling privately but you have to make sure that it's safe for you.

If selling face to face, better to meet the buyer at the police station and it's good to have some friend go with you.

Why would you service it if you want to sell it? As an authentication? Just curious.

I would have just traded it in to a reputable grey dealer like DavidSW. He's always given me fair trade ins and while it's not as much as a private sale, the convenience is totally worth it. Don't have to deal with money, just send in your watch w/ the prepaid label, wire extra cash if needed and receive your new watch the next day!

Also, have you tried on a dj 41? I also have a 36 and always thought I should've went w/ the 41 until I got to try it on. Looked way too big on my wrist. I would try it on and make sure it's what I want before I make the trade. Good luck!

Hi, I purchased from Chronos, while not worried about authenticity, I had no idea of service history. I also chipped the crystal and it needed fixing. I also like that the watch now has a two year warranty.

The prices I have seen, have been 1k or more in difference, which is why I posed the question. If X dealer is going to sell for 7K, I have seen offers for 5.5 or 6, for the original seller

I have tried the 41 and like it better in my wrist, it isn't as large on me, as I thought it would be.

The idea of RSC first is a good one.

Trade-in, the AD can resell which will give you more priority on the 41 and other watches in the future. Also the easier way to go if you value your time. Make sure you do your research of what your watch is selling for online. You won’t get that, but you shouldn’t lose much either.

^^^ This +100... assuming you have a 6-digit DJ36 model.

This^

If you have a decent AD local that is the way I would go. A lot less hassle and gives you a little bargaining. They should give you decent trade value plus it is much like buying a car, you will then only be taxed on the remaining balance.
