I'm finally a Breitling owner!

After many years of being into other brands I finally got the Breitling piece I've always wanted!

Chrono SuperOcean A13340

I was stunned at how nice the Chrono SuperOcean was. Despite wanting one since about 2010 (overshadowed by other brands until now) it was my first time seeing one in person yesterday.

Now I need to figure out what I'll buy next!

Thanks! Today was overcast so I still never got to see the piece in direct sunlight. It's incredibly versatile and constantly makes me regret waiting so long.

The blue dial was the best choice for me. Bracelet quality is top notch, just blown away over all. I'm thinking of the Chronomat 44 as the next piece but the high polish bezel (scratch magnet), font on the bezel, and the Onion crown don't appeal as much.

Thanks, Brett! It really seems like a great brand to begin collecting. Mainly the older / discontinued pieces. Still can't stop looking at the Chronomat.

Albeit somewhat similar I can't think of any other piece right now that shares this level of desire.

The first serious watch I ever bought was a Chronomat. Excellent piece. Always brings back fond memories when I see a nice one.

It's official, the Chronomat has officially grown on me . I tried one on at the AD a while back but the wrist shot came out all blurry. It has enough subtle differences where I can indeed see it being added to the collection. I'm so excited and enjoying the Breitling brand!

indeed! I never missed those hollow center links from the 5 digit reference pieces. Couldn't be happier with this Breitling! It's amazing what I've discovered in the world of horology after the shenanigans began for a certain brand.

Congrats! It’s a fantastic watch, I still look at them in the for sale section and want to buy one... and I already have a Breitling chrono!

Enjoy!

Thanks! It's such a great feeling that seemingly gets better each day. I'm going to start collecting various accessories from the brand too.

Thanks! I know how you feel! This one just arrived and I haven't stopped looking Breitling has some great history behind the brand. Chronograph is my favourite complication to have in a watch other than the basics like date etc. In my opinion the way to go when getting a Breitling is with a Chronograph.

Thanks! I'm glad to hear that and the first time I tried one on it felt like that for me too.

Image from Google

The one I originally posted above appears more blue but is listed as a black dial. It's hard to tell sometimes with the anti-reflective exterior coating but I want mind to be as it appears in the aforementioned.

I took these a few years ago at the AD, please excuse the blurry, poor quality.

These watches are all so versatile. The size is just right and it seemingly took me desire for a Planet Ocean Chronograph away.

This final image I took a few months ago at the AD when I was picking up my Omega from service.

Love it! I’ve had the white dial for over 10 years now. Fantastic watch with tons of options for bands. I think it would look amazing on a brown croc. Enjoy

Thanks! The one in your avatar looks stunning! You just reminded me that I need to source a deployant clasp for this piece. Do you have a part number by any chance? I can try grab one on eBay or through Breitling Canada if they supply parts like Omega.

If you want a Chronomat, I would try to get an Airborne. The dial doesn’t have the square in the middle of it and doesn’t have the bezel font or it. Here is a pic of mine on the black rubber mesh strap. I’ve also got the bracelet and a brown leather strap that I’ll wear it on.

Wow, that's a stunning piece, Justin! Yeah, you've got the better Chronomat bezel in my opinion. Brushed finish and sans the cartoonish font. I still love both but will strongly consider this suggestion.

My only issue with Breitling right now is the fact their website seemingly makes it SO hard to browse all models. That is, in comparison to Omega and others. I'll have another look for this as I might've passes over it before. What's the reference number for that piece?

Thanks, this watch has been through a decent amount of wear and still really looks great and keeps "perfect" time. The bracelet can be a lot at first since it is fully polished, but you get used to it quickly.

I looked at my deployant clasp on the croc. All I could tell is that the strap is a 20mm and the clasp is 18mm. I didn't notice any model numbers.

The Ocean racer rubber is another great option to switch to in the Summer. That deployant has an awesome ratcheting mechanism built in almost like a glidelock.
