Incoming Sub Date + Photo
Short story about how I’ve got my watch: (sorry for double posting, but I wasn’t able to edit my original post). In January 2020 I stopped by at a random AD (without any sales history) to see what they have available. They didn’t have too many watches at the time, but they’ve offered me an Air-King and an OP, which I’ve kindly turned down. I told the sales rep, that I’m looking for a Sub Date, and obviously he told me, that it’s very hard to get. We’ve talked a few minutes about watches, the crazy demand and sports cards as I was heading to a sports cards convention that day. He gave me his business card though and asked me to contact him in case I would change my mind about the OP or the Air-King. Next day I sent him a kind text message, that I’m not interested in these watches, and asked him once again to keep me in mind for the Sub Date.
2 weeks ago I‘ve randomly found his business card while I was cleaning my office, and decided to send him a friendly reminder to let him know that the sub date is still on my wishlist. He remembered on me (most likely because of the text message history), and replied that he’ll keep it in mind. Just a few days later he messaged me that my sub date is ready for pickup. I’ve collected the watch on Thursday. He wasn’t working, but his colleague was super nice as well. The biggest surprise came 30 minutes after I’ve left the store: she sent me a text message, and let me know to don’t hesitate to contact them if there is anything else on my wishlist, they are happy to help.
