Sunday Cleaning

I thought it might be time to clean my watches today. While cleaning I thought I should reduce, but I somehow cannot separate. Any suggestions, how to move forward? The OP and Black Dial Daytona belong to the wifey, so they need to stay.

Cheers

No need to reduce. Those 4 watches are a solid quad.

As you have the AP and WG OF, and you asked about reducing, you could consolidate the steel Daytona and the YM and put it into something with a leather strap PP or ALS maybe.

Prob this - if you trade in the black dial Daytona. As you double your money on that, adding a YM to the trade for a used ALS 1815 Chrono (which loose value from new), you might be able to pick this up at little cost.

And it's an incredible watch. Beautifully finished.

For starters I think you’ve gotta look at which gets worn the least. Then functionality/tool redundancy, you have three Daytona’s, one which stays for your wife. I think you keep the AP for brand diversity. You’ve got a great collection, all keepers in my book, good luck choosing.

You have a great collection and it appears to be very wearable. I would not trade or move anything. Just enjoy and if you want something different then just add one.

Agree - there is nothing I would move. You have all the Daytona love covered with a SS, a PM on OF, and a full WG. The only thing I would maybe consider is adding - but it depends on if you want to stay in the crown or go to another brand. I think you have a mighty fine collection as it is!

I would sell the Daytona on Oysterflex and just buy an oysterflex for the other Daytonas, also sell the AP

Great collection. I’d let that OP go, if it’s a 34.

If it’s the 39, you’re all good.

I love doing cleanings like this. It’s fun to inspect and wash them. IMO.

Nice collection, I know how you feel, from time to time I think “what do I need all these watches for?” Common sense says reduce, but if common sense prevailed, you wouldn’t be in this situation in the first place

I chuckled when posters said to get rid of the OP or black dial Daytona when he specifically said they were his wife’s .

Thank you! Well the 15202 was always my grail, it is compared to the other watches quite flashy, but it has big flaws i) waterproof only up to 50m (which I DOUBT) and ii) no quick date setting (this really sucks). This is why I think the Daytona ist the Best watch, since no Date, flat, 100m waterproof. And I been through a lot of watches...

You got to be kidding? I think that AP is 15202ST, one of the most sought after in the watch community.
